9 hole chook run with the big yellow feathered one at God's Country GC (Gordonvale) this afternoon. **** me, the wind was blowing hard today (although not as strong as at Sanctuary Lakes last month). I started extremely poorly and had 7 over in the first 5 holes, then parred the last 4 straight. I'm blaming the physio for making me do 50 squats last night .

Yeah, my ball-striking has certainly improved (no shanks today), but I still have a way to go. I felt as though I was swing really well at the start, but on reflection I think I was over-swinging a little through the 2nd 9. A few of the missed greens were only just off the putting surface, and I left a few putts out there, including the 1.5 metre birdie putt on the first

28 points at Pacific with DC68 and Nutedit.

Started wash/wash, for a total of 6 wipes (I need to get these in check) and four 3-pointers, three of which were in succession, and one after finding the soup with my drive. (I actually even had a putt for a 4-pointer on this hole, just leaked right a little. Gotta love having two shots :-))

The 28 points doesn't really show it, but I hit the ball better than I have in the last few months. Turn those wipes into 1-pointers with the odd 2-pointer and I'd be doing alright.

DC was swinging it the best I've seen him. Had a look at a lot of birdies, but only walked away with two for the day.

25 points today off the golds. Just when I thought I'd turned the corner.... 5 hour round with a couple of old women and I just couldn't get into. Plenty of reasonable shots, but just two many complete shockers.

Will have a drastically reconfigured bag next week, so hopefully that will improve my outlook. Gave my 905S a fitting send off by belting one 280m up the 18th hole. First time I've ever hit it over the tree at the dogleg. I think I had both feet off the ground at impact!

Pins were hard, course was soft, and greens were slick. tough but good day

8 fairways - driver on fire, long and straight

8 greens - ball striking was really good, smooth swing really worked, just didnt have the control

It helped having my playing partner also playing well but didn't lose a shot. :smt013 Hopefully play well again tomorrow as I am right on the limit of losing a shot. btw this was at Armidale and the course is starting to play a little easier as the course dries out.

Had a hit with Mayhem at Wembley (Old) yesterday.

47/39= 86 nett 72, 36 points (14/22).

Second hit after the holiday, game is still rusty. After the front 9 I was pretty disappointed, but came back well to shoot 39 off the stick on the back. It was the best 9 holes I have played in months. It is nice to find a bit of form, and remind myself why I enjoy this game.

Driver was on song, I am trying to remind myself why I have a spare driver and shaft sitting here. Irons were better as well. Under 100m my game needs some serious practice, feels awfully rusty.

10/14 Fairways
6 GIR

Working on a few things with the swing, seems to be paying off. Still swinging lazy, but picked up at least 10-15m off the tee.

Black Marker day at Newcastle..

The par is reduced to 70 from 72.

I played well and shot 77 with a triple on the last (Lost ball and a 3 putt) :(

- 8 greens
- 8 fairways
- 30 putts
- 1 x 3 putt
- 1 double
- 1 triple

Highlight of the day was birdie on the 13th which is one of the par 5's reduced to a par 4. Driver, 2 Iron to about 15 foot, drained the putt.

I'm not sure what Puppet had, he said something like 87? But I'm not certain.. One thing is for sure, he had more reloads than WWII. He started well, but the course wore him down and he lost the plot..

Great day was had!

*Edit* Funny thing is I have been handicapped as a Stableford and my handicap has been reduced to +4   . Ill be getting that fixed ASAP!

Well i played at Newcastle GC today as Grunt pointed out. I didn't play well but christ did i enjoy the course and the company.

I started off very well being Even after 6. Then it was all downhill from there.
.
.
.
.
.

1st - Very happy to take bogey.
2nd - Solid Par
3rd - Par
4th - Par (Nearly got birdie as putt lipped out)
5th - Birdie
6th - Par

And here we go...

7th - Triple
8th - Birdie 8-)
9th - Triple
10th - Triple
Then i took a ride on the bogey train going Bogey, Bogey, Bogey, Double Bogey, Double Bogey, Bogey. Parred 17 and 18.

I finished with an awesome score of +16, 86. Or 22 points..

The course is AWESOME. Layout is awesome and there are only 2 or 3 holes I didn't enjoy. The only criticism for me is on the 5th hole that no matter where you hit your drive it will still funnel back into the same area...So alot of the time your shot will finish in a divot.

On many of the holes there are hidden hazards. Also many bunkers are quite deep so they act as a true hazard.

Anyway here are some highlights:

2nd hole: MT played amazing bunker shot from the edge of bunker on the uphill slope. Nearly fell over in the process
6th hole: Pup had a ball plugged in the face of the bunker and had a god-damn fugly lie. I hit it as hard as i humanly could and the ball popped up way right and went to 30 feet. I then sunk the curly putt and it just fell in the end. :D
7th hole LOWLIGHT: I ended up taking a 6 after hitting long left. BIG NONO. My brother ended up taking a 9 after hitting it left aswell. Par 3 btw.
12th: MT plays a stellar 5i to 5 feet. Sinks the curly putt aswell for a nice birdie, :smt038
13th: I hit an awesome bunker shot from 60y with a 9i to 12 feet. MT hit a decent drive, awe inspiring 2i (?) to 15 feet. Sunk the putt for a super duper birdie. (Eagle on a non black tee day)
17th: I sunk a curly 15 foot putt. Dropped in on it's last roll aswell. Sexy lookin :o Also MT copied me and sunk hit 12 foot curler.
18th: MT 3 putted from 10 feet.

I really enjoyed today and will certainly be back for another game at Newcastle. Very enjoyable course as long as you don't ****ing lose 4 ****ing golf balls as i did today. ;)

Results: PM - 86 My brother - 98 MT - 77 Chris - 83

I've been playing so badly that I took three weeks off, with an hour or so on the practice fairway once per weekend. I felt ready to play again, so I got back on the horse today.

An historic round for two reasons. It was my first round off double figures for about 14 years. It was also my best round for 4 years, 5 over for 41 points.

I didn't play really well, but I stayed out of trouble, didn't hit any shanks, putted OK and got up and down quite a few times. The game is so much easier when you get down in two from within 10 yards of the green instead of 4 or even 5.

I'm even prepared to do stats again.

Fairways = 10 of 14
Greens in reg = 8 of 18
Putts = 31, one birdie, one 3-putt
Up and down = 5 of 8
Sand Saves = 0 of 2

HAHA symo.

What is your handicap and where you a member?

Not a member anywhere and no handicap... I'm too embarrassed to join and play comp until I get better. I've given myself a new nickname: Chef. Why? Because I slice all day long!!!!

And getting a handicap would just be torture... I'd have to keep re-doing holes because I keep losing the ball all the time!!!!

More time at the range for me I think... That was just embarrassing.

Holy cow, parmaster that's an impressive golflink.

Not just the quality of the scoring but the variety of courses where it's all happening.

Top stuff.:smt023

Weekends i just play golf. Weekdays i play tennis and golf.

Apart from that it's just schoolwork and an online golf game. ;)
