Cavity Backs - 1 in over in stiff

I have a mate looking for some irons. As per title, he is looking for CBs in stiff around 1 inch over (will be bending 2 deg up as well). Forged preferable but not deal breaker.

He is mid to high capper but looking for something he can grow into over the next year or so as he is just getting into playing regularly. I have suggested something like i701 but he is fussy & I'm just seeing what may be out there for him.

My incentive is that we have a golf trip coming up & I don't want to hear excuses when I whoop him a*se all over the course. :lol:

May have some Titleist 755's with S400's for sale in a few weeks. Would be after about $300. Just have to do some comparisons with what I have just picked up

I have a set of Maxfli A10V irons. Cavity in longer irons and blades in shorter irons. 1/2' over standard length with Sensicore S300 stiff shafts, 3-sw plus a lob wedge.

All clubs in very good condition, including full set of iron covers.

Looking at about $250.

Excuse my lack of knowledge but what does the 'v' stand for & are these the a10 tour limited? Any other info on the clubs also appreciated... I tried google but not sure which one it is.

I have a set of ping i3 blades 2I-PW 1/2 inch over and silver dot which is upright someone already agreed to buy them but havent heard back so your mate can have them for $250 pp if he wants.

I'm trying to convince him to go cavities or combo at most but he has tinkered with the possibility of blades after hitting my old Macgregor progressive muscles & almost falling in love with them... I'll ask him - he will like the idea of a 2 iron since he is VERY anti-hybrid. cheers oncewas

Hmm, don't bother just yet I have a feeling he is more likely to go for the Maxflis or a set of Mac combos spotted by goonie at golf world... or he might just withstand the pressure of those nasty ho urges & go find himself a set of cavities from 3-PW... we shall see
