How many tapes do you guys have under your grips, i have 6, i have really long fingers and i hate my middle finger and ring fingernot being able to wrap around the grip properly.

What about everyone else?

I like really soft and tacky grips so im trying the side winders, i liked the winn mid size but they wore fairly quick

i used to always use tour velvets and there was only 2g difference between standard and midsize. not sure how much, but i'd reckon the tape would weigh more than that for the amount you would need to make them a midsize.

you get the grip the way it is supposed to feel, not a pregnant, stretched thing that feels extra firm due to the amount of wraps that it is covering. this would be important for you as you said that you like soft grips.

a mate of mine had velvets with about 8 wraps and they felt horrible compared to my mid size ones.

less than $1 more per grip when buying the grips by themselves.

hmmmm, i've never had any trouble with tapes before if anything they mould to my fingers better, not a fan of a rigid grip.

Virge if you read this how will the sidewinders go with 6 tapes

Just had my srixon 506s and 3 vokey wedges regripped from standard with two papers to the Lamkin crossline midsize
for 10 irons cost me $80-00 fitted
played two rounds now and grips feel fantastic love them
I where a large glove so needed a thicker grip

certainly worth thinking about as the the grip is the only connection between you and the club so its important to fit right
Bit like car tyres being between you and the road and how many types of tyres are out there ??? giving different performances etc

The sidewinders will be fine with anything up to 26 wraps - 27 may put it over the top though.
