I saw that. I thought it strange that he had lead tape high and forward, rather than low and back, on his woods.

I think it's been placed in that spot to prevent popup marks.

3oneday uses the same technique with all his new driver purchases ;)

Some great old clubs there. A fellow member at my Club gave me an old Hogan putter which closely resembles the putter Hogan used in winning the 1953 British Open at Carnoustie. There is a photo taken of him sinking a birdie in a qualifying round on the Burnside course, which is in one of my books.
The putter is bronze, the shaft has a flared tip with fluting and steps (never seen a shaft like it).

yep...remember this equipment is a different era. Drives were generally lower launch and higher spin due to the ball...maybe he spun it too much.

Hogan being Hogan would have been pretty meticulous about its placement.
