I remember posting about this lady's 9th hole in one. Now she has had 10 - and yes - all in comps.

She is about 78 and has been playing since she was a teenager. Her husband Sandy died last year and she was cleaning out the garage and came across his old clubs. She saw he had an old 3 wood ( wood head) and thought - I don't have a 3 wood - I'll give it a go.
First hit with the club on our 6th hole - a little uphill 128 mtr par 3 - can be a tricky little hole - and yep - straight in.:smt038
She looked up above and said "thanks Sandy"
It doesn't get much better than that does it.

You should ask her if you can use it on the greens.

FG...does your club give the ladies a bottle of scotch or whatever for an ace?

The course was Rosebud Park Public Course.
She didn't get a bottle of scotch - we have the ball mounted in a trophy. She has quite a collection now. We normally have champagne as well - but the bar was closed so we missed out.

The holes are usually cut bigger on public courses. They do this to improve everyone scores by a couple of shots as it means the golfers score better and are more likley to return with their $$$$$ to play again. It also therefore means that holes in one are easier to achieve because the target is larger (but not legal).

So it doesn't count.

I'd find it hard to beleive larger cup sizes are available.

Excellent. Do they do it at Gold Coast resort courses too?

They do it everywhere.

They also fudge the course distances to stoke your ego and make you feel as though you are hitting it miles, ie the 350 metre holes are all listed on the card as 400 metres (so blokes can say "I smashed it 250 all the way to the 150 metre mark"), and the 150 metre poles are really only 125 metres from the green. Oldest tricks in the book.

I hear they also suck the air out of the atmosphere so your shots fly in a complete vacuum, far further than usual. A team of midgets are also employed to quickly run out onto fairways and missed greens and throw your ball closer to the hole.

Oldest tricks in the book.
