going to buy a laptop son just wondering which are the best brands atm in the 800 to 1200 price range.

Dell have an excellent customer service model and I think this is particularly important with a lapto. My pervious laptop had a faulty screen and they sent out a technichian with a replacement screen. Replacement took less than 1 hr.

Currently using HP EliteBook. Very nice and I am particularly happy with the battery life. I have used it for over 4hrs on batteries with almost 2 hrs remaining.

buy an asus

2 year warranty on them and their prices are as good as anyone else
I have bought about 15 of them for clients so far and havn't had a single problem with any
