How about an Australia Day Cup annual event?
a challenge between the Sydney and Brisbane Ozgolf days. Assuming of course that Sydney can get a field organised.

Best 3 Ozgolfer scores count (adusted for difference in ACR naturally).

Losing team puts $5 (?) per point difference into the Tsunami fund, and pays honourable respectfull praise on the forum.

We'd rather go out and watch the ferry race, walk around The Rocks where there are markets and bbq'd and generally lap it up in the area where it all happened some 220+ years ago ;)

Golf on Australia Day.... that's just blasphemy, hang your head in shame.

If there's interest i'll stay tuned, but most likely spend the day in town watching the ferry race.

Oh yeah fish..sounds like a barrel of fun. Walking around The Rocks, dodging those 5,000 tables set up for yuppies like you to lounge around sipping latte's. Have they got the tables IN the harbour yet...they're everywhere else

I'm waiting for a coffee supplier to hang a billboard off the side of the opera house.

There's your bloody history.

No really, it's great. You get to see where the first fleet landed, original buildings that are now great restaurants, and how the olden-day convicts settled the land - not bad for blokes who were sentenced for stealing a loaf of bread.

I guess you don't get much of that culture, seeing as though the Golf Coast was created out of a swamp by modern-day corporate thieves.

You'd be best served coming down here for the day and mingling with your heritage.

Can't really remember Kev. It was a few years ago, but I may have it recorded somewhere at home.

It wasn't how I played, but the fact that they wouldn't honour reciprical rights or vouchers, because they were under new management. Then charged us full price to play on a course with greens that had lumps of fertilizer/duck crap all over them. :x

It wasn't how I played, but the fact that they wouldn't honour reciprical rights or vouchers, because they were under new management. Then charged us full price to play on a course with greens that had lumps of fertilizer/duck crap all over them. :x

It's under new Management again now 8) and for $7.70 I think these guys are a bit better business minded (there response to the day was they want to encourage visitors from other courses) and this mob have employed a green keeper 8) the other guys (a group of pro's) tried to do it themselves

These guy's even put signs out "ducks please CRAP somewhere else"

Onewood,

Is Karl still in the pro shop at Logan. I don't remember his last name but he was doing his apprenticeship at Carbrook a few years ago. Great guy. If he's still there I'm sure he'll help to bring in more players.

what was your score there last time and what nines
Played there twice in late 01 and early 02. From what I can tell it was on holes 1-18, as I haven't recorded it otherwise. Shot 83 and a 94 on the shocker green day. Think I was playing off 17 back then.

What holes will we be playing next week?

Sorry Onewood but count me out for tomorrow on two accounts:

1. I have no irons - had to give the Callys back (bloody mate traded this set plus other clubs for a laptop - how dare he) and I have sold my Gauge designs and my Tittys 680s

2. I have a work committment which I thought was cancelled for tomorrow.

So boys enjoy the day.

Are you serious G69??? Never know with you - Cally is obviously Callaway.

BVegas - X-Tours are Callaways first attempt at a forged club that is supposed to be more blade like rather than the usual Cally shovel. Apparently they have great level of forgiveness but have that bladish look to them. Also a first for Cally is the fact that the X-Tour have ferrules.

Craig Parry, Charles Howell III and Phil Mickelson are using them at the moment as are a lot of of the Cally staff.

Also lookout for the new ERC Fusion FT2 - this driver is a beast - black and mean looking- nothing compared to the previous Fusion which I hated!! It just looks plain awesome and feels great!! No more muted sounding C4 like head.

The real form guide
Griz... Local plays off 10 and can play some good golf on big occasions ………..12/1
990B.. The longer course will test this young up and coming gun……………………………….20/1
Mick D..Another local 12 H/C that needs to get off to a good start, great putter…10/1

Onewood, this guy is in some awesome form but the handicap is too low………..15/1
Mark H, Hasn’t played for yonks 12 h/c just coming along for the ride……………..33/1
AndyP, Seen this guy first hand and if he keeps getting up/down out of a ball washer look out, big chance even with the 1 shot drop in handicap………..6/1
Eags, the new swing is taking shape nicely and is just about ready to put it all together…8/1

Keza_G 8 h/c and one of 2 fillies in the field that will tear up the red tees, only worry is playing against some higher then usual Handicappers………..10/1
Roc, If the shorts hold up after getting all excited with the wide fairways, could sneak into the top 5……8/1
BriVegas, Used up all his bad luck at city, so look out, chasing the long drivers may let his ego get in front of his ability, this could be the only down fall, even with going out to 7 will struggle to catch the higher cappers on this course……..18/1
Andylo….Very much a dark horse with the practice being put in and the belief he got out of playing City…the hundred is broken 47/48/95 – 27 = 68 could be the bench mark everybody……4/1

Caz, the other filly in the field, also off 8 and in some good form (if you call beating Paul good form) only time I’ve seen Caz was at E/Lakes and she also will tear up the reds, first time on the course….12/1
Paul, this course will suit his little gay fade and I rate him a big chance as well. Gets it up and down nicely which you need around here….6/1
Golfer69, one of the toughest form guides to gauge, one of those 100/1 chances that get up from nowhere, I will say though the greens really suit a slice put, based on that……12/1
CobraSS, This country golfer has been showing some form of late and has had a reasonable drop in handicap since I last played a round with him, this could work against him along with the awe of coming to the big smoke…………14/1

Jarro, the quiet achiever, just seems to knock it around a couple of high drives to get your mind off how straight they go and has a very good chipping game…..8/1
Terryand, handicap is too low for these big occasions. He will have more fun on the range before the round. Top 10 at best 20/1
Damoocow, 18 handicapper playing off 25, very hard to beat. A lot of sledging needed to bring this guy back to the field, although the extra travel and 2 days back at work may help us…2/1
Kee, played some great shots out at City and is capable of putting a good round together, but I think Andylo has the edge on him at the moment so……18/1

To Golfer69......... Yell "Fore" louder........ for those who don't know... G69 can't hit the green...... but he can hit me....!! (20m right of the green near the next tee....) You owe me a beer ...! :P

Kez...I yelled plenty loud. When your as inaccurate as me you get lots of practice. And I reckon it was at least 30m.
Besides, you looked to be focussing on mars bars and beer at the drinks cart. Nice meeting you and Roc for the first time.

Many thanks to the playing partners of Cobra, Caz and Paul. All hit much nice balls that me (not all that great a wrap really).

Logan disappointed me yet again. The greens were pretty furry but I guess the mower couldn't get at it due to the rain. However I really don't give a rats as long as there is a decent crowd of punters and there are 18 holes.

My game was all over the place again and the tidy short game kept my score from being embarassing.

What about the slice putt on 18

CobraSS was unlucky not to hole out on 18, around the hole, then sat about 1 foot away

ROC and I had a cart cause we were too lazy and figured that ROC had never plaed Logan before and so we may have to walk to much....

Yep.... 30m sounds right.... and , no I was catching up with the cart girl, she used to work at my old club, (gold coast country club)... but I reckon it was a good shot anyhow.... the ball skipped off the back of the drinks cart and straight into my upper womanly protuberance.........  :D

Cheers guys

Well if you'd spent the $5000 on the "enhancement" like your hubby requested, you might have been able to bounce my ball back on the green.

(you let me know if I get near to crossing the line) :D

I wouldn't even have them if it weren't for my hubby...... pregnancy causes these things to just appear... pains in the ar$@... or should I say chest...

Selfish bastard spent the $5000 on his Lasik surgery instead....I like guys with glasses and now he don't need them, I was a bit peeved...but he's happy though, cause I came home with 3 Protuberances after the ball hit me there !!!!!

Cheers

Thanks to Kev for organising the day, thanks to caz and paul and golfer69 whom were in my group today, for a good day.

We got lucky with the lack of rain, and it was not too hot and a had good breeze all day, just how I like it.

My golf was average (81,73), with the few memorable shots offset pretty evenly with the disappointing ones, but that's golf ain't it.

BVegas - at this stage it is tour only - but there is talk of making a retail version.

BTW tiler started working on the house yet?

Nudgee - the tiler is done... finally! Came up pretty good too! After a couple of trips back to the tiler (in bloody Geebung  ) for shortages and to Bunnings for trims and wastes etc. we got there in the end. I was out there today and took some pics.

The electrical fitout is happening at the moment. All the lights and fans etc go in on Monday. Expected date is late Feb at the moment... Plenty of annoying little things to fix still, so they'll be busy for the next few weeks.

Thanks mate. I can't take all the credit though. My cousin took our basic concept and made it look a bit more "arkitektural"
