View Full Version : Ferrule of clubhead coming off shaft?

I noticed a little gap between the Ferrule and clubhead approx 1cm on my PW.

First i thought the ferrule had come lose and is sliding up the shaft, but after trying to push it down (it wouldn't budge) Im starting to think the head is coming of the shaft..

Is this possible? If so is it something i can easily fix or should i take it back to where I bought it to get it rectified?

To test if the head is loose just grab it and try to twist it off the shaft. Besides that the shaft may have bent a little inside the hosel? Otherwise the ferrule has just moved, put it under boiling water and push it back down.

I would bet 50 bucks it is the ferrule coming up. Those suckers can really get jammed up there. It is rare for the head to move south, but ferrule creep is rather common.

Anyway, back to the Ferrules. I'll give the boiling water a try when I get a chance.
Thanks Minor Threat. Got a few starting to creep up.

Any other methods?

If you've got some epoxy, run it round the shaft just above the hosel before you push the ferrule back down, should stop them 're-creeping'. I epoxy mine on know when first fitting them since I had one creep and mangled it trying to get it back in place. Ended up pulling the shaft and putting a new one on.
