This could be really ugly.

I predict 12 shots.

How the hell did he land this gig?
Sponsor's exemption?

13 shots.

Yep. 20 years since he won it. At least he isn't taking a spot from anybody who could have made it via pre-qualifying.

Be good if he won it.

IBF would be one of the nicest and best blokes you could ever meet.

But he's going to shoot 84 twice.

It will be 2 rounds of total difference, something like an amazing 1 or 2 under in the first round than a 80 in the second to confirm to him why he is a commentator this days not a player. I wonder if he has any ambitions for the senior tour????

i'm gonna go easy on him and pick a miss by 11 shots

I thought I read some time ago that he intended to give the Seniors a red hot go. I agree one round will be acceptable, one ordinary.

Miss by 7. He'll go alright, because there is no pressure.

He's got two chances of making the cut - none and buckleys. It will add interest though and he'll be back commentating on Sat & Sun. Will be good to see the IBF swing again, looking forward to it.:)

I am one of the world's great Mug Punters, as my backing of Adam Scott to win this week at 80s would attest.

But I wouldn't waste Zimbabwean dollars on IBF Top Aussie at 100-1.

A hundred-to-one?

He could shoot a hundred.

PeteyD
28th May 2009, 04:34 PM
He is paying 1001 to win.

A thousand to one, eh ...

No. That's crazy talk.

Then again ... I had $50 on the Shark at 50-1 when he almost won the Open last year.

But IBF ... for mine the spread betting markets would be talking about his shots either side of 80. 3-under for IBF would be a 77, for example.

or something. i'm making it up now.

I am totally stunned that 6 people think he will make the cut. Hopefully the same 6 idiots have bet on Queensland ext Wednesday.

I found the coverage on OneHD from 5:45-10:00am Friday, but there's nothing in the Program Guide for Sat/Sun/Mon??? WTF??

I think he will just miss the cut. It would be great to see him do well, but I think we are kidding ourselves.

You know he plays off +5 at his US club??? Not bad. Apparently still has to play 3 or more times a week otherwise feels bad. I'm going to give him a chance of making the cut...... What odds can you get for that??

he hasnt played for 6 months - his handicap chart here (http://mt5493.ghinconnect.com/GH/IIHBP82.CGI?Y=10101111100011110000000011%20&WHEREFROM=&WHOFROM=&BACKTOURL=&BACKTOURLTARGET=&L=1&T=1)

Looks like he plays only VERY tough golf courses. The slope ratings are up among the highest you can get at 148,150,151 etc!

I voted for 'make the cut'.

But I don't actually know which event we're talking about, because nobody has named it in the whole thread and I couldn't be bothered googling it. :)

Looks like he is having the shocker that a few have predicted in the 2nd round. He is 6 over after 7 holes to be 4 over and 4 off the E cut line.

7-over afte 11 - 5-over all-up ... Even is projected Cut.

7 holes left to record that 84.

Bruce

He shot 78 to finish 6 above the cut line.

Correctly predicted by:

I reckon he would consider missing by six shots a pass. Not that he would admit it though (he'd be too proud to admit it, and rightly so).

Having not played an event in 8 years, and with the baggage he's carrying - good on him.

Bruce
30th May 2009, 10:56 AM
Apart from a 3 putt on 4 and a trainwreck on 5 I think he would be mostly happy.

He sprayed a few off the tee though. Had to chip out more than once (including chipping out into a hazard on 5 - ouch).

Yeah he can obviously still play ... he'd need to practise and play every day for six months to compete ... and that's before the well-documented mental problems come into play. He'll go okay on that Seniors Tour. But be good to see more sponsors giving him exemptions. Good luck to him.

Grunt
31st May 2009, 09:31 AM
I think he may do better than just well on the seniors but there are guys on the PGA tour that are going to cut it up on the seniors tour real soon. How long has Fred Couples got till he can play on it. Kenny Perry? There are heaps of them.

How much less money is on the Seniors Tour? Is it a bigger Tour than that of the LPGA?

He'd need a new head to do well! Fix that and he could be ok.
