From what I have been told, most TOP end shafts are expensive due to both the technology and the quality control/low tolerances.

Most amateurs do not benefit enough from this (the tight tolerances).

You will benefit from a good quality, good value shaft that suits your swing instead of a stock noodle.

For a new driver shaft, although I like what I have (UST HMOI), I would consider getting a Mitsu Javln. Have them in my hybrids and they are silky smooth.

I honestly think both the UST HMOI and HL shafts are 2 amazing shafts for the money.

You are just looking for consistancy, if I buy a shaft that adds 400rpm to my ball speed I want it to ALWAYS add 400rpm to my ball speed - not vary around.

Expensive shafts are more stable and offer this.

The main bit though that no one tells you is that if your hands are behind the ball at impact - it makes no difference which shaft you pick, just get one that feels "nice"
