Anyone interested in getting some gear from www.golfworks.com (http://www.golfworks.com) and sharing the shipping. South East Qld only.

Golfworks is a great place for brand name shafts and grips, mmmmm KBS shafts:smt060

Our northern cousins (all related apparently) are also getting some gear from Golfworks, and I am doing an add on with them for my humble selection, but it is a hassle getting the stuff back down here, so I thought i would put the feelers out in case there is any local interest.

With the Aussie dollar improving, its a good time for shopping. The freight usually starts at around $35. Will share the shipping pro rata per $ with a minimum of $10

I have pencilled Henno in for a headcover, me for a 39 degree hybrid to replace my 2 iron,

MTB - I assume you mean 19 degree? If not I reckon it may be a shortish 2iron you are looking at replacing. ;)

Ok Scottt. Looks like I just found the thread you were referring to. Amazing how it was another one that had you, and at least one other, with differing opinions. 4 pages and counting on that thread so far.

My apologies to Mark. I should have know it wasn't really an error.

Can I suggest you go with a 45inch shaft in the 39deg hybrid. ;)

Can't find a 39* hybrid, but with the Cleveland Niblick, you have the choice between a 37* and a 42*. :)

ROTFL !

yeah i can see what you are laughing at, obviously a 39degree hybrid is a poor replacement for 2nd shot on the par 5's, i would be far more accurate with a shaft that is 6 inches longer.

Are we still on?

Yes, are you gunna be more specific?

Go to the site, and add items to a shopping cart, then copy paste back to me, that way Icant make a mistake. With your spelling and my eyes, you could end up with a transistor radio instead.

I will place order in a week, get them in time for Nudgee Plate, if not sooner.

I would have thought everyone would have been all over these (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_CC0011_A_cn_E_10032). Imagine being able to change your shaft every round without bribing Perci with beer.

Legal?

markTHEblake
25th May 2009, 11:22 PM
Of course! its only against the rules to change a club during the round.

it takes like 10 seconds to remove the shaft, i was with my clubmaker and i hit all these different shafts and hardly had to wait for him to change them.

The only problem is that the shaft has to be cut shorter, so you lose resale *unless* you sell them to someone who is using the same rig. Though you wouldn't have resale concerns if you bought the right shaft in the first place, then you wouldnt have to sell it.

I reckon i've just about got it with the mizuno mate. definately longer than the xls, mind you the shaft that Virge got for me is excellent too!
Thinking it could be good with this shaft adaptor to be able to play a couple of different shafts depending on circumstances and better than buying a callaway.

I assume you need to cut the tip shorter? so you need to be careful you wont be going to stiff. How much is needed to be trimmed MTB?

Do they Amart Allsports in NSW? They carry the Skilz range of golf practice aids, including impact bags, which are cheaper than the Golfworks version. I have one and seems a quality bit of kit.

Jono, I will find out.

Simmsy, joking aside, I wouldnt suggest anyone buying these Conex things without consulting a clubmaker, the online info is just too vague about exactly what you need, especially as there is two type,s one for fitting the other for play.

Yes, the bag is empty deflated, not a problem to include in the order.

Anyone else want to buy just one grip? you wont be the only one.

These (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_WN0041) seem to be popular.

markTHEblake

Mark, would it jack up the shipping cost if I ordered a lie board?

The original estimate was
Merchandise listed is $591.87 and shipping is $71.08 for a total of $662.95.

Your lie board brings the shipping up to $81.53

That original shipping estimate doesnt include your Impact Bag or another 12 grips, so i am guessing our overall freight is going to hit $90

That also puts our total at AU $999 (roughly)...... so I am thinking that i would rather get something dropped off this order now.

Let me know please.

Sounds like I have left my run too late but I wish to buy 2 x Pingman Blackout putter grips (US$4.99 each). I understand you don't want to tip over A$1000 so if some pulls out can I be considered first reserve Mark. I also understand I would need to pick them up from you, no dramas as we are heading to the GC in the next month or so to visit the wife's family.

Mg - Done, you are in.

Now that Andylo has cancelled half his order (Christine found out) our order is USD460 plus shipping. I want to limit it to USD600, so room for a few more things.

Grips seem popular.

Will share the shipping pro rata per $ with a minimum of $10

As a bunch of people are only making very small orders like a couple of grips, have revised minimum shared freight to AUD5 (if its something light asfreight is calculated on weight)

Shipping cost is US$71, less the AU$23 that Jaybam bought the 10 free TM grips, so thats a good deal for us. Will update you all when the purchase hits my credit card.

They didnt ask for a confirmation this time (they usually do) probably because I had already got an estimate previously. So y'all locked in.

All items in stock so should all arrive in the week leading up to Nudgee Open.

Tracking (http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/processInputRequest?loc=en_AU&Requester=NOT&tracknum=1Z4919506724328429&AgreeToTermsAndConditions=yes) here, was a slight delay as they had to get a confirmation back to me on one of my items. I asked for a handpicked head for weight and they didnt have one :-(

The charges havent hit my credit card yet, i only have the authorisation, which wont necessarily by the same anyway. By the looks of the amount, i estimate we will be paying roughly a rate of about 0.76. Thats about right, on the day the exchange rate was about .80 and Visa takes their whack of about 2% on the rate, and the bank will hit me for about 2.5%. Its a shame, credit cards used to be amazingly cheap to use on foreign transactions, as you got wholesale rates, now we get raped!

The product is no longer available since GE sold Wizard in Feb, however the cards business were not sold.

AFAIK there is no other card that doesnt have an approx 2.5% foreign currency fee - some are more.
