Colleague of Collected Wisdom and other wankers

A couple of years ago I had a couple of Idea Pro hybrids, which I sold, because I didn't like the shafts(stupid VS Proto POS)...and I am a ho of a minor proportions and wanted to try new things.

I am thinking about getting them again, but before I jump in I would like to know if anyone has tried the Idea Pro Golds and can provide me a comaprison.

cheers

I cant help, but can say you would be better with non Pro models.

However, if you insist, the new Pro Gold have JavlnFX shafts, which are really nice.

I can't make you happy can I. I trying to be all friendly adlo-like and you mock me!:)

Seriously though, I liked the Idea Pro's a lot, just didn't like the VS Proto.

Are you saying I'm not man enough to use the Pro's?:)

Tried both, in varies shaft. Keep the Idea Pro and ditch the Gold. I can't feel there's a difference on performance except the $60 each club.

I am suggesting that the way Adams make hybrid headcovers, they won't last 18 holes the way you drop them.

I am suggesting you would be better served by a more forgiving model with a bit more spin, like the A3/A3OS.

Gotcha on the headcovers!

What about the A4 Tech's?

Just, in my humble opinion, they would be a better fit for you. Crazy forgiveness and a lower COG so probably more distance. Better shafts for you too.

Is it just me, or does $80US plus shipping seem cheap for an Adams A4 3 wood with Matrix stock shaft?

Get Burners Just. The original 07 models.

07 Burners rock

How do I tell which Burners are the 07? Why are they good?

At this rate I might use my proshop money for a R9TP!

The 07s are stupid easy to hit and get airborne. Very forgiving.

Everyone who has ever hit mine likes them. Would look at a reshaft though.

There are hybrids out there easier to hit than the Adams Pro?? Must be cheating.

Looking at something Adams around 15-16 deg.... BUL vs A3 vs A4... something easier to hit than the Adams Pro would be magic.

adlo, where did you see the Adams A4 for $80+shipping?

the 07 burners suit us choppers more than the adams.

Agreed there, my playing buddy's jaw always hits the fairway when I let one rip with my 3h....very nice feel at impact....stock shaft is probably the only let down in terms of feel but it still gets it flying for me....and very long too.

Stock shafts are not that bad, for a stocky.

You need the R9 Tp hybrid to match it now, Andy!

andylo

just, you are right.

I currently got a R9 driver, 09 Burner iron set (traded my Adams Ideal Pro set to Capalaba Golf World), ordered and waiting for the R9 TP 4 wood, and hoping to get a 09 Rescue TP 19* (possible 21* and 23*)

Do yourself a favour, get the 09 Burner iron... I thought I can never find better irons set than Idea Pro... but I was wrong.

What shafts you get in the Burners andy? And when did you trade the Idea pros, didn;t see them in there. Maybe they went fast.

I know... I know....

I was thinking to only get them at the end of 2009.... but I kinda think - life's short, enjoy now :)

I am sticking with my Cobras for now. Too much to get the Burners and too much of a pain to keep the KB shafts etc etc.

Stop threadjacking! Honestly!
....back on track I think I am going to go with a Pro Gold 23* with the Matrix in Reg, its a toss up between that and the R9 TP 22*.

PeteyD
26th May 2009, 11:34 AM
Threadjacking? Who does that? The matrix shafts seem to play stiff to flex.

Do it.

Go Adams so you don't have to park of the R9 brigade
