Just say your clubs are nicked and you get $3K from the insurance company to replace them. What would you buy? Would any of your current sticks gets replaced? Or would it be time to trade up?

For me, I would buy my bag, hybrid and sand wedge, but would change

Putter - replace Odyssey #2 CS with Cameron NP 2.6
Driver - buy a Nike Dymo or FT-9
Irons - either buy new S58s or some S57s.

The $3K limit is to keep it a realistic dream bag, not one full of tour gear etc.

Hmm not sure, but I have had my clubs insured for $2.5k going on a year or so now and no bastard will steal the bloody things !

Does your hypothetical mind stretch far enough to include your 'hypothetical' ability?

Hey, if you want to hypothetically buy Nike blades with 7.3 rifles, Dan, I'm not going to hypothetically stop you :lol:

I'd just buy stuff from scottt's and haysey's dream bags for 1/3 the price they paid after about a month and pocket the spare $2k.

I'd get exactly the same setup and pocket the extra cash 8)

1wd - Titleist 909 D3 or Cobra S9 Pro Force V2 stiff shaft 9.5 degrees loft.
3wd - Im content with my current 980F 3 and 5 woods. (titleist)
5wd - See above.
Irons - Titleist 690mb 1-9 iron.
Wedges - Titty vokey wedges with that nice flange. 52,58,64
Putter - Yes Sophie

So i'd only change my irons Wedges and 1wd.

Because I'm lazy, probably the same.

If energetic, organise Virge to see/measure my swing and provide recommendations for what's best, esp. for a driver and hybrid vs. fairway wood options.

Not at all, MT, I think you seem like a nice kid who plays some mean golf as far as I am told.

I personally would rather hear the good, juicy story about what you told the stupid bitch who walked across while you were trying to play at Penno. Maybe one day over a beer ;)

I think a nice pair of slacks would be the order of the day.

What i said to her was "Can you please not move when im hitting". It was at the Wollongong golf club btw.

And i did use a raised voice. (Not screaming nor shouting though)

a fitted driver,some nice cavity back things that would also be fitted.....just what i have with the stuff all fitted to me and money saved spent on lessons and maybe a nice rolly type of cart. and more time to play the game.

If someone gave me $3K I'd hook my self up with:
* Cobra S9 - 10.5 degree
* Cobra S9 - 15 dgree 3wd
* 2-PW Ping S58's
52, 56 and 60 wedge set - maybe Clevelands or YES wedges
I'm happy with my YES putter, but might get myself a Lajosi Mallet for good measure.

I'd go to a club fitter and drop $3k getting fitted for whatever suits me

I would find the best shaft/head combo possible for the driver.

Possible reshaft of irons if anything suits me better.

Some spin milled wedges with a custom sole grind.

A Lajosi mid mallet.

Rest on lessons or a golfing trip to the sandbelt and Mornington.

Yep. I'd haul my arse to Gary Calder, buy a 6-pack of lessons and get fitted with whatever suited me best.

I'd go to a club fitter, find out what shafts suit my swing, and then get some heads with an obscure brand name that nobody's ever heard of that are just as good as the major brands.

I figure I'd be able to pocket 2 grand, which I would then spend on the ladies, Connor Simpson style.

Scottt, is the hypothetical insurance company paying out a $3k cheque, or equipment up to the value of $3k ?

If it is the latter, then the difference in getting cheaper clubs won't be able to go towards something else, like lessons, holidays or the ladies.
