I owned the stainless 735's ages ago.. they chatter up up a bit too ;)

My opinion - the chrome ones 'look' better than the stainless version.

For the 735's the 'dull' looking irons are the stainless and the 'shiny' irons are the chrome model.

Yes it is. But that is when it's mixed with the steel itself. In the case of that we call "chrome" irons, that is merely a chrome layer over the top of carbon steel. Once that wears off, you expose raw carbon steel to the elements. This can be seen on well-used irons with face "browning".

chrome 735's have a black "bore-through" plug. The stainless ones have a pale/steel coloured plugs. Those ones in the pic are chrome.

The stainless ones ding up just as much as the chrome plated ones. The main difference is that the faces on the chrome ones will wear out over time.

Good luck with the Pings. You never need to worry about iron covers and bag chatter ever again!
