Virge, I am thinking of grabbing a higher loft head (12 degrees or so, maybe a SUMO or Adams BUL) and taking out the stock shaft and installing prob an SC.

I like the HMOI 65R I grabbed off you, would you say the SC 65R would be the way to go or maybe a slightly heavier shaft?

I would be going heavier.

I had the SC75 in a 905R briefly. Not a bad shaft. Similar specs to the V2 75S, but smoother (apparently).

I had an SC75 too (can't remember what is was in but suspect it was a 510 TP)... great shaft.

Cheers for that, I will do a look around for a cheap-ish head and go from there.

I'm in a similar situation to Adlo, except I have a head ready to go (Macgregor 11.5). I want the length at 44". Is the the SC75 the way to go?

Virge

Trying to get my head around the heavier -> lighter shaft thing.

Whats the real effect of the heavier shaft? I have a 3 wood with a 75gm Oban in stiff. Love it, always feels in control and its a genuine 230-240m off the tee these days.

For a driver is lighter the way to go or heavier?

Share some knowledge please.

We use flex and weight to control the spin rate. I can also use weight to keep you in some kind of tempo.

I can also use weight to lower your ball flight and reduce balooning. I can use it to match your ball to your club head.

Lighter = faster swing.
Heavier = more Oomph

It is personal preference.

I usually put heavier shafts in fairway woods to keep it a bit straighter.

Virge, i'm currently using a Purple Ice 75 in my 15* V-steel 3 wood.

Ballflight can be a little on the high side for a 3 wood ..... i'm after something that will give a lot stronger ballflight (possibly a little lower as well)

Would an Accra suit this club ?

I thought I read all over this forum that you loved the Purple Ice?

Are you just tinkering for the sake of tinkering? :razz:

Oban Devotion 7.
The Revenge would be nice for the driver.

It was fitted to my Cally squareway when I picked it up for peanuts on Ebay 3balls auction (US$100 when it was @ .85cents)

Virge, looking at the website, these shafts are listed as mid-high launch, do you foresee an issue with one of these in a high loft driver?

why the FiretrUCK are you looking at a new driver? You hit 12/14 fairways with what you have. If you want more distance, swing harder, as you only swing about 60%.

Welcome back.

You are probably the most accurate driver that I have played with at Kennedy, with the exception of the new pommie member that has played off 1 for the past 20 years.

You don't need a new toy.

Thanks for the welcome, whore.

Virge I'm looking at reshafting my driver, currently using an Aldila Proto ByYou 65-S.
Its a bit spinny, was thinking a SC 65 or a SC 75 in R? Any thoughts?
Cheers mate

Hmmm . . . shitty OEM Aldila shaft vs one of the best shafts UST ever made.

I take the 65 Accra thanks. :)
