When this new range starts getting play on the LPGA Tour, the saying "dip me in honey and feed me to the lesbians" will become all too real!

Get rid of those 3 ugly black "tour dots" on the cavity and face and the sole engravings and weights and that's a fine looking putter.

It should suit me then:mrgreen:

I wonder if the weights are interchangeable with the Studio Select Newport 2 model. Actually a neat putter; am getting sick of the ' made for tour' stamping - more of the same marketing crap to suck in the gullible. Tipping the Cameron collectors will be all over this one.

I like that old rusty thing you use, haysey.

Can Lajosi Honey dip putters?

haysey
7th May 2009, 11:49 PM
Not sure, I'm hoping to source the same putter but raw finish from Mr Lajosi8)

Can Lajosi Honey dip putters?
No. These type of finishes are done by specialists. Not sure if this particular finish is electro plated or a coloured polymer.

Why would you want a raw finish haysey?

You mean a raw Fastback style?? Me too ;)

It was a tongue in cheek question Razaar, I am not one to drool over the latest and greatest Scotty Cameron offerings, like honey dipping.

What does raw look like as opposed Honey Dipped or super duper electro plated coloured polymers?

I too want a Lajosi fastback.

I have a rust fetish:mrgreen:.

I've got a raw circa 62 that is my favorite putter and if I get the opportunity to get something custom made, I might as well get the finish I want too.

Looks like the Fastback style will be a popular seller. I better get in the front of the queue. They get sold in order from tallest to shortest ozgolfer. Oh dear, I guess adlo and big bird get in first :)

The first is electroplated (silver mist) and the second is coloured polymer (was done for me by a chap in USA)

Why do they have to ruin a nice mallet with a plumbers neck?

Why do they have to ruin a nice mallet with a plumbers neck?
because the neck is easier to make for a shaft thickness of offset. I'm with you (Karsten's Solheim's greatest blunder, had to install a ball bearing in the shaft to ensure it didn't come lose) - plumbers neck interfer with squaring up the face in my case. Flow neck for me, preferably with no offset.:)

I'm in a mallet phase at the moment and I must say that Fastback looks awesome.

I'm playing tomorrow and I noticed a name in the group after mine on the online timesheet. I enquired via PM to the great man on this site and I will be meeting the man in person tomorrow (Kari Lajosi).

I'm sure he will have some of his finest work in the bag tomorrow, so with some luck I hope to have a demo on the practice green.

Seriously . . . how many times can they re-invent the wheel.

It is the same putter from 8 years ago, except it has some different paint on it.

FFS.

It was to stop club makers reshafting it.

Honey Dipped sounds a bit sexual, I think I'll ask Johnston for his opinion ;)

but why ???

"Ohh look it is a ping anser but it is a "dark colour".... quick - i must pay US$500 for it cause it is a "dark colour". Hang on it says "tour" on it, must be worth at least another $200.

You would have to be an utter moron to buy this stuff. What was the "weld" stuff they had last year? "We didn't bother to clean up the weld marks and now it is worth more !!!!"

I just cannot get far enough down to food chain to communicate with these people.

We could ask that question about one million things, but if people are attracted to something, well, that's all she wrote.

Trust me, people aren't seeing them as a dark color Ping Anser

Tho i know where you come from, i totally disagree. Hey, it's a damn nice color and new to a Cameron series. Whether people like it or not Cameron has a massive following and much of what he does will be cult like. This series may not be any dearer than his norm either, time will tell. One mans trash is anothers treasure. The bottom line is different strokes for different folks.

Lets hope you don't - it can be an obsession bordering on a sickness. To me, putters are the "works of art" in golf equipment. Unlike the other clubs, putters do not conform to a standard shape or type, and it is for this reason that they are collected by many golfers. I think one has to be exposed to a real collectors selection to get the bug. Also people like to own nice things and to many of us putters fall into this category.:)
