I spot a lot of stuff on Ebay that appears to be a bargain but not necessarily stuff that I want so maybe a thread to alert the other ho's to said bargains might be the go.

This looks cheap, pretty sure they go for just over $200US on yank Ebay.

Got gloves off him, no dramas, but I didn't get the ones he is advertising in this auction (synthetic), I contacted him and asked if had some 100% leather mizuno gloves, (like the Mizuno Tec Fit glove, I normally wear), he sent me gloves that were identical but in Indonesian packaging, great gloves.

see here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290300724121

he also sent me some free samples, akka the ones in the auction you are looking at, personally I prefer the 100% leather ones I got off him, the ones in the auction you are looking at are still good gloves but the 100% leather ones were my preference.

I scored a pair of brand new Oakley Ice Picks last night.

I'd looked a little while ago and could only get them from the US for $USD180 (Buy It Now) plus shipping. I was just browsing last night and saw a pair at auction that were only $80 with 40 minutes to go. I threw on a maximum bid of $125 (exactly half the RRP) and when I woke up this morning saw one of those awesome emails that says 'You Won Item such-and-such'.

I just bought an Odyssey Black i putter that appears to be a tour issue. It has a different insert to the retail model (no little black dots, like those on the European tour). There is a guy selling one on Golf WRX for US$600. If it is no good, I might try and sell it and get a Buttonback!

Shipping from Indonesia... Hmmmm...

have a look at any brand name golf glove and take note which country they are made in. Most are from Indonesia.

It is not unusual for genuine items to be sold from Indonesia. Its not unusual practice there for people to approach these factories direct and pick up large quantities, like in the tens of thousands (minimum).

Fake headcover coming soon to a fairway near you.

I wonder if the person that finds it will know it's a fake? Maybe, in that case, they'll hand it in.

Interesting discussion around some rather blatant 3balls shill bidding.

http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=285312

Webster
30th July 2009, 01:14 PM
Its not shill bidding.I'd say its a re-seller who buys a lot of gear from them and uses one ebay ID to do the buying, and another to do the selling (so the buyers don't know where he gets his gear from or how much he pays for it). Same as what I do from time to time. My buying ID would only show bids on 3balls stuff.

3oneday
30th July 2009, 01:17 PM
Yeah, it was a wank 6 months ago and a wank now.

There are heaps of guys from all over the world that buy exclusively from 3balls. When you could see the user names it was very clear once you read their feedback.

All that hiding names has really done is heighten suspicion. If these wyanks were bidders, tell them to report it to ebay and they will investigate. Otherwise they should shut the **** up.

Just in my opinion, anyway ;)

3oneday
30th July 2009, 01:39 PM
I don't claim to be an expert, but there are several things that should be considered.....

1) it only takes one person who was outbid to report them for shill bidding. If it can be proved ebay won't hesitate to shut them down. Surely one of these wankers has done this ?

2) there are morons (probably Queenslanders) who sit at home and start auctions. They have no intention of winning or even bidding again, they just start auctions. Dumb hey, but truth.

3) Why would they even bother ? they almost always have over 1,000 items listed. Most people know when something is and isn't a bargain and stop.

Sorry, but 3balls is a cleanskin as far as I'm concerned. If it is the same thread as 6 to 12 months ago, it goes for a while and then dies.

If someone feels slighted they should report it to ebay, not slag them off on a public forum.

There was a mob in the UK a few years back (when the exchange rate was more favourable) who used to buy almost everything from 3balls auctions and then resell in the UK. They would always snipe you at the deathknock. $#@%'s

I actually bought one of these fake scotties to see how good the quality is (or isn't).

The headcover looks real, the grip looks real (although it was crooked) and the putter had about 14° loft. The milling is more pronounced than usual as well. To the average Joe Blow it looks very real.

Also the words/letters on the sole are almost identical however the material is more like what they would use in a Ping iron, very very hard steel and certainly a different colour as well, a darker steel.

Cost me $67. ! and my son is getting a Scotty for his birthday

Hmmm,

bought the Mickelson DVD off a US Ebay site on the weekend. Ebay have just sent me an e-mail saying they have removed the listing and bids! A couple of days too late guys! The seller ( b9-sportinggoods) has disappeared off Ebay completely, so assume they have shut him down?!.

Thank you for your bid on the following listing:

XXXXXXXXXXXX - Phil Mickelson: Secrets Of the Short Game 2009 DVD ****

However, eBay has had to remove the listing and all bids or offers have been cancelled. Also, we recommend that you consider carefully whether to complete this transaction. If the seller chooses to relist it, you're welcome to bid on it again.

We hope you understand that due to privacy reasons we're unable to discuss the details of why this listing was ended. However, please note that this does not suggest that the seller's standing has been called into question.

*Important*
We strongly recommend that you do not go ahead with the purchase however if you have already paid for this item but haven't received it, you need to act quickly to get your money back.

- Contact your bank to stop payment if you paid by cheque or bank deposit.

- Contact your credit card company if you paid by credit card.

- If you paid with PayPal, you may be eligible for up to $20,000 in PayPal Buyer Protection. To file a dispute go to the Resolution Centre in My eBay and click on Report an Item not Received or Significantly Not as Described.

If you have any questions, please contact us at:

Regards,

eBay Trust & Safety team

H12869

Paypal processed the payment yesterday, so I have lodged a dispute tonight. However, the seller has supposedly already posted the item and provided a USPS tracking number which tells me they received (Accepted) the item on 24th August.

Not a big issue only $27 involved, but will be interesting to see how this one pans out. Ebay and Paypal business practices suck IMO and they do not seem to work together at all.

Hey Daves, I got the DVD from Kmart at Pacific Fair....

Thanks Pip.

We tried at BigW, but they knew nothing (even though they have advertised it) and also KMart. KMart did not get back to us as promised so went to EBay. There was a guy in Oz selling them but he had sold out, so went to the US. Bloody KMart rang us the next day to say they had it! Useless #####s. You can actually buy it at BigW online, but they want more than their retail store price for it and plus postage extra of course!

Anyway I think this one will turn up in due course, it does seem that he has posted it. Not sure why they shut him down? He had virtually no negative feedback and nothing negative in the last 6 months.

Not sure if this is the right spot to ask this but this Launcher looks like a good deal.
I currently have a Srixon Z-Ti, 9.5, stiff and am struggling with it. I tend to slice pretty badly. I have been told i should have a regular shaft, swing speed is around 90-95mph and more loft would make hitting it straight a lot easier. I hit a mates Cleveland XLS, 10.5 regular pretty well and was wondering if anyone of the experts out there had any advice? Would an impulse buy like this be a good idea? thanks.
