We have just settled on a new home in shoalhaven heads and must say needs a little work. Location is awsome, 1min to the golf course, 1min to the beach, 1.5min to the river and we managed to talk the owner down in price by 40k hehehe. Its has 3bed, 2bath,2 kitchens, 2lounge, dine, lge single garage. After renos we hope to have 4bed+stud, 2 kitchens, 3bath, double garage, 2 lounge and a media/rumpus room.

The down side.
11 different wallpapers. yep 11. every wall in every room, including inside cupboards. Only place not wallpapered is the ceiling. Will need new kitchen, bathroom, toilet, walls knocked out etc..

Just knock it down and start again

Fun times ahead.

Despite being 1 min from golf and beach, it looks like you won't have much time for such luxuries

Don't listen to any fools in their McMansions. I'd always take a dodgy-looking house in a great area over a nice house in the ghetto.

You should see the old shack I live in - easily the smallest, oldest piece of crap in Manly. I always tell the misus that I paid for the land, and the house was thrown in for free. :-)

Rennie,
Taking a look at the wall paper print on the right hand side and being the 70's, you probably had some plants in the yard as well.

Wow....the previous owners obviously had the same love affair going with wallpaper as my Dad did.....quick count....9 different types at my old's place, even had that fluffy/velvet stuff in a few of the rooms :) Your in front by 2 Coffs.....Brings back some memories though

That's so 70's. The house that I grew up in had a few classics ... chocolate brown velour, canary yellow vinyl and even wood look-a-like. To cap it off there was black-and-white wallpaper on the bathroom ceiling.

I'd say close to 20 patterns in my parents' current house, as any room without it, would have a wallpaper frieze as a fake chair-rail, around architraves, on pelmets, etc. (Dad may have done it to keep active in retirement, but more likely mum just bought the stuff and told him to make it happen.)

Coffs, best wishes for the renovations.

We have finally moved in. Took us about a month to renovate most of upstairs. Haven't done the bathroom or toilet yet. Wallpaper sucks.

Quite happy with how its looking so far :)

Nice job Coffs....kitchen looks very stylish. Did you do much work yourself or is that a silly question :)?

It's looking good, Craig.

We have slowly been changing the walls of our place since we moved here 7 or so years ago. We liked the design of the house straight away, but all the colours were pinks/peaches/apricots.

I don't think I could handle tackling it all in one go. I got frustrated enough painting one of the bedrooms on the weekend.

looks good craig! What's that wall colour in the living areas? It looks v nice.

When are you heading up here next? My home theatre needs a paintjob.

We pretty much did everything at once because we needed to replace the carpet so we wanted the paint to be done before it went in so that we didn't spill any on the new stuff. I let the pros do most of the kitchen. Demolition though was my part - Good ol sledgehammer hehehe (calling mcleod). Our next job is the bathroom and tiling the kitchen downstairs for my wifes cake studio. will prob do most of that stuff myself.

Looks great, Coffs.

I also did a complete repaint after ripping up the carpet. Between that and a paint-pad for the edges, it was twice-to-three-times as fast.

Best wishes for the bathroom.

ps. If you visiting Sydney and they are still there, Bathroom Effect in West Ryde had 20 demo bathrooms in their showroom, which was handy for picking a colour schema, tile laying options, etc.

Hope you enjoy your local gold course.

I played there last year while staying at the caravan park up on the corner (Mountain Veiw I think)

Nice course, although I found the greens HUGE.

Its a nice feeling when a local tells you that you put it on the green, only to find you could have taken 3 more clubs to get near the pin.

Seriously some of the greens are 40 metres long!@!!!

Nice little clubhouse where you can find a killer burger.

I hope you enjoy it.
