In early 2003 Scotty Cameron started working on two new putter designs based on requests from PGA Tour players looking for a traditional mallet shape. Based on player input and research from the state-of-the-art Cameron Putter Studio, Scotty experimented with different materials to achieve the proper sound and feel characteristics. He opted for a high quality milled stainless steel body with a soft face insert made from precision milled German Stainless Steel and supported by a soft elastomer material. To create the Red X he started with a simple, clean and compact profile and added a refined single bend shaft that provides a clear unobstructed view of the ball at set-up. The Red X2, born from the original Red X putter, features a straight in center shaft with three red dots on the topline behind the shaft that assist in proper alignment. Coming in June.

And best of all....

Red X is available in right and left hand at lengths of 33'', 34'' and 35''.

A. High performance mallet putter featuring a clean shape and profile.
B. Precision milled German Stainless Steel insert is supported by a vibration absorbing elastomer material and cushioned pad for a soft and solid feel.
C. Precision milled stainless steel body and clear anodized aluminum sole plate (milled both on the inside and out) position weight where it is needed the most, back in the center of the body and level with the equator of the ball.
D. Draft sole with slight negative bounce allows the putter to sit square without any face closure.
E. High toe feature. The topline of the RedX2 slopes up at the toe to help ensure the putter has the proper loft and face angle at address. Typical mallets have a flat toe causing most players to tilt the toe up at address and inadvertently close the face.
F. Straight in center shaft configuration. The bore is positioned slightly towards the heel to provide a clean look at address and easy alignment.

I saw the RED X this evening!!!

Centre Shaft - 34inch
it's a damn awesome looking putter (defn better than the pics have them!)
so much so, I'm going to say that this RED X would prob be the first SC to be in the bag...

And I was very close to getting the Mezza Monza...

Another interesting note...
becoz it's a centre shaft model, on the heel end, are 3 red dots...
didn't really know what was the purpose until I took hold of it again...
it's like the SEEMORE putters....if u can align the shaft properly, and not have either dots showing, you've got the face straight (assuming the grips) on the right way!!!

Very interesting putter.... VERY!!!!!!

the guy mentioned 900 Malaysian Ringgit...
so I'm not sure exactly how much that is in Aussie...

but it's defn CHEAPER than what the SS were going for!!!

Comparitively, the Voodoo is about 500 Malaysian Ringgit...
