Do any Royal Melbourne members slum it here?

Why would any member advertise it here so private course access ho's can harass them into playing there?

(saying that, I'd like to thank a couple of Victorians for hosting me at Ranfurlie and Spring Valley in the last couple of years....) :)

i still don't get it, your saying people go around all the time and just try to get to play private courses.

Well, if thats the case, i wouldn't consider myself a ho. Was just looking on the net with my son at top courses in Australia, as we are playing Barny Dunes shortly and Royal Melbourne kept coming up as the best in oz, and thought we may get a game sometime, maybe.

Surely people that help out other people still exist, and people that just want to try something that they would not probably get to can ask.

I mean ffs we all sit down to take a crap.

Write them a very polite letter and you might get lucky.

That might make it difficult to get a letter of introduction from your committee then...

Hey Zig have a look here (http://www.golfbrsa.org.au/index.htm). They run a charity day at RM on Caulfield cup day every year. It's $125 a player and if you book early you always get the course you want. I've played in it 3 times, allow 5 1/2 hours though. :(
