Hi Guys

I just bought a Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter off ebay for $50!

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Scotty-Cameron-Putter-Newport-Two_W0QQitemZ220397004961QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Spo rt_Golf_Equipment?hash=item220397004961&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A13|39%3A1|240%3A1318

It is actually in pretty good condition apart from a small nick on the top (near the hosel and hardly noticeable from address). I was expecting much worse for $50! The black is fading, but I have seen much worse.

Would you guys pay to get it refinished or just use it as is? I will post better pictures tonight.

I am pretty sure it isn't a fake. If it is a fake, it putts really nice. I prefer it to my Studio Select putter.

Refinish it yourself. A bit of sanding, a bit of buffing, find a local metal plating business who'll put a new finish on it for about $20, paintfill it yourself, slap a new grip on it and she'll look brand new.

Nice pickup 8)

I'd just leave it as is ..... if you try and touch up the finish and do a crappy job, it'll end up looking cheesy like those old Ping putters :p

So a real one would rust ? I didn't think the Newports would ? only those Circa ones.

This is the Newport 2 with the same finish as the Circa models. They came out in the 1990s. This was the version before the insert model that Tiger used to win the 97 Masters. Mike Weir still uses this model.

I have attached some photos.

You have done good braddles. Piece of cake to clean up if you have access to a dremel. I agree with noodles ' suggestion to have the head electroplated.
