I'm looking at getting some new shafts and i was tossing up between s300 and r300 the s being more accurate but the r have more length but not as accurate.

I'm looking for a shaft that is in between these 2.

What ideas have you got guys?

have you tried measuring your clubhead speed on a launch monitor? Or, better yet, have you been to a professional for a fitting?

Hi have DGSL R300's, they play a little stiffer than R300's and being lighter you retain the distance.

Having said that I am about to play around with another set of Project X's, 5.0's this time

Don't forget swing tempo, shorter quick swings need stiffer shafts, and longer smoother swings need softer shafts than there Swing speed alone suggests.

S200 is in between these 2, or R400 except they don't make them anymore.

I have S200 in my i10's.

Thanks Goonie - i was going to have a rant about swingspeed and how it is not the major means with respects to shaft flex.

Then we have to have some idiot tell me that how the pro's do it, or that is the way the web page does it... etc etc etc

This way saves time.

I've often wondered what tempo i swing at, not short and quick for sure but not smooth either.

I was thinking if i can hit a 7 iron 155-170 with reg shaft and 130-145 with s 30o, surely there is something in the middle?

Exactly what he needs.

To soft step s300 you would move all your shafts up a number. Eg 3 iron shaft would move to the 4 iron and so on down the set and you would need a 2 iron shaft to fit you 3 iron. To hard step r300s it's the other way around, and you need an extra wedge shaft for PW. When you hard step you need uncut or over length shafts to make the clubs the correct length. If your using new .370 shafts you just tip trim them to your flex.
