Just a conversation peice.
what do people look for when buying a glove
[#]Is it price
[#]Is it brand
[#]leather , synthetic or combination of the two
[#]Feel or durability

The glove that I use is a Taylor made react glove , it is a full leather golve I like for it's feel but the downside is in summer when it is hot and I sweat alot the glove will stretch. the glove costs $30 but I get a lot of golf out of this glove

i tend to look for a glove that feels good on the hand first and foremost. Durability is still a big issue though too, no point in having the worlds best feeling glove if you have to replace it after every round

At the moment i'm using (rotating) 3 kakadu kangaroo skin gloves. I'd have to say they are one of the best gloves i've ever tried. Very durable, and feel really comfy on the hand. Pretty reasonably priced too.. i think i got the 3 of them delivered for just over $40 :D

gotta be all weather gloves. we sweat too much up here, plus it rains as well.

I generally end up buying whatever, then not using it half the time anyway.

I too look for fit & feel foremost with durability close second.
I'm using a Callaway Dual Zone (leather/lycra combo) VERY comfy fit for me, tho I haven't had em long enough to comment on the duability but lookin good so far . . .

I go for the one with the coolest ball marker, but then again i never use it.

I'm with C&P - Mizuno Tech Flex. Have one now, though just gone through the thumb after 100 rounds in Casino/Ocean Shores/Ballina due to the high humidity. Great use out of it, and durable - having said that i think i've had it 2 months?

I got a freebie TaylorMade at the demo last year, got to say that while it felt comfortable, it didn't last that long.

have any of you guys ever tried wearing no glove for a round :?:

i'm seriously thinking about trying it tomorrow at Nudgee, i gave it a whirl the other day on the range and it felt surprisingly good ... as long as i remembered to wipe my hands before each shot

gloves sh$t me. Why are they so bloody expensive?? I mean, to get one that feels half-decent is $20 and they last maybe 5 rounds... If I could play without one I would....

I stocked up on Mizuno cabretta leather ones just before HOG Edward St closed down. They were $5 each. any more than that is a ripoff. I got about 4 of them in the bag that are all just about stuffed. :(

I did (by accident) a couple of times last year. Did not like it at all. [-(

If you had grips like the one on my driver it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm with C&P - Mizuno Tech Flex.

My vote is also for Mizuno Tech Flex. I have 2x in my bag just in case I leave one on the course again.

I did it a few week ago and played the last 6 holes without a glove. Not good

I have big problems with gloves. I wear out a spot just under the knuckle of the thumb, so my gloves never last long enough.

If i dont wear a glove i just wear out a spot in my thumb, to be specific it rips out a chunk of skin so deep i cant barely hit another ball. Its the result of a scar in that spot.

I wear strapping tape on that spot outside the glove. If i put the tape on my thumb directly it always comes off.

I also like the glove becuase it seems to give me more strength in the back of the hand, and i can then hide about one knuckle (ok half one knuckle).

in the 80's there was a glove that i could use for more than a year. it was made of a material not leather or similar. by the time i was ready to throw it away , it was see through but served the purpose in protecting my thumb.I wish i could get those again and they were cheap too.

I bought 3 dozen Nike Sport Feel gloves from Rockbottom Golf and by the time I got them here they ended up costing me about $4 each. :D
I like a consistent fit, durability and thinness of the leather without it being so thin they don't last. :?
