I've been looking around the site and reading through many threads with interest. So i finally decided to join you guys and get involved myself :)

I also used to post on iseekgolf website under the same username about 1-2 years ago.

Im only a "youngin" (14 years old) so i might not be as educated as you guys but i certainly have a huge passion for the game so hopefully i can contribute to the website and the discussions on here.

I play off a handicap of 2.5 at Oatlands golf club. I also lay claim to the ugliest/weirdest/unusual swing so i might try posting that up in the forum on here hehe

Thanks guys,

Michael

Not detracting from PM's impressive credentials, but I reckon there'd be more than a handful of kids in his age group playing off <4.

ParMaster

I don't play JNJGF events.A certain someone in the organisation has a personal vendetta against me and refuses to let me play in them. How nice of him.:)

And no there aren't numerous people in my age off less then 4. Many are sort of between 5-9. One kid though is off low 2's and he is like my rival :) TBH Junior golf in NSW ain't the greatest compared to other states i have been to.

And yes you may adopt me. hehe

Welcome ParMaster,

2.5, I can only dream of getting that low, actually getting below 15 or staying below 20 is a challenge for me.

Don't let any of the other get to you & we promise not to let SMS corrupt you.

Also on the most unusual Swing here, I am pretty sure you won't have that niche covered with the group that we have here.

ParMaster
22nd April 2009, 06:12 AM
No trust me...i do have a very ugly swing. Ill describe it for you :)

I have an unusualy large stance and i always have very open shoulders. I swing slightly inside the line and when i get to the top i have severely overswung and the weight is on the outside of my right foot. I then twist my body to the left and i cut right across the ball. Now for the creme de la creme:lol: At impact i am actually airborne with both feet off the ground and my finish position is almost nowhere near the ball.:-s

Surely no swing on here is worse than this masterpiece?

I think we are all relieved to get a young poster on Ozgolf, who doesn't shoot around 90 and wants to know how to get on the tour.

Good luck with your golf and your studies.

Are you thinking about a career in golf? Or in the real world and just play amateur golf ?

I have been playing golf a bloody long time. My dad said i started a couple of months after i started to walk....i don't remember a time when i didn't play golf.

I highly suggest you get your kids started in golf as early as possible. I think it would be a good idea if you just started them off with a putter and a ball. Teach them the proper technique for putting and then take them to mini putt-putt. Im a very good putter myself and my dad always took me to mini putt-putt. Just buy them a cut down bullseye putter or one with an anser head.

And when they start to get good at putt putt, take them to your local driving range and let them smash balls for awhile. Same thing. Just teach them the proper technique and then maybe when they are ready, give them a go on the golf course.

However if you do this i think you should take it slowly.

And yes i'd obviously like to persue a career in golf. My dream is to win the Claret Jug at The royal and ancient club of saint andrews :) If i do that i'll die a happy man. hehe
If i don't become a pro well it's not the end of the world. I have a huge interest in golf course architecture so it would also be nice if i could design or re-design a couple of courses.

If i DON'T have a career at all in golf then these are a few "occupations" i would like to do. Pilot, Policeman, Car salesman (Mercedes-Benz) or a COUGHsexologistCOUGH.

Thanks,

Michael

PM, I played lots of JNJGF golf when I was a junior, which wasn't too long ago.

People don't just get barred for no reason. Or suspended from golf clubs for no reason. You'd have to be an unlucky bugger for both to happen for no reason.

I'm not saying it makes you a bad person, but saying you did nothing to cause either outcome is difficult to believe.

Inside joke: The gentleman we both know would not say a bad word about anybody - even if it was justified, and the young lad would know that.

Now lay off the young lad, if he really did something bad, he would never have admitted he got suspended. Any idiot can see that.
