Does anyone have experience of getting equipment over from the states? What's the deal with import duties and is it better to use USPS or DHL/Fed Ex?

Under $1000AUD, over that and you get charged GST and other fees.

Much of a muchness on shipper, USPS is probably slower.

Never had any issues with getting stuff to me from the states but agree with Jack UPS are pricks to deal with if you need any questions answered. FedEx delivers for RockBottom I believe, always quick and arrive in good shape so far!!

USPS is cheapest for small parcels.
No issues with deliveries etc with Fedex or USPS or UPS (once).

Just watch the exchange rate.

+1 for check the exchange rate.
Fedex from the states to my door in 4 days is their current record. Usually 5 days.
USPS 5 days to 10 days. One USPS shipment showed up about 2 months after the replacement order lobbed.

Fedex is all over USPS. 4 days for me as well, usually 5 days as oobs said, max of 7 days, but that is a rarity.

Don't touch UPS.
