You would have to think the Shark's financial position is going to get worse with their poor form on the field.

They didn't get enough to their games when they were winning to cover their costs, so this year could be the breaker.

Would be tough when you only get 8000 to a game on Saturday night too, they used to get regular crowds in the 15-18000 range. If they are not at the game they don't go back to the club.

Their next home game is in Adelaide. They are playing at the Adelaide A league side home ground.

8000? Wow no one likes Stuart.

u8ergolfer

Adelaide for the Wobbegongs?.. I keep think what an unmitigated disaster the Adelaide "Also' Rams were.. why would the Sharks be any different?

Best Case for them would be Central Coast (I couldn't see it happening tho') or central coast QLD...

Grunt

Central QLD was launched the other day with Rockhampton as their base. 2012 is supposedly the new date for the latest reshuffle.

PeteyD
12th April 2009, 07:20 PM
Should get rid of some of the crap teams to bring new ones in. Or create a new 'Premier League' and have 2 divisions. With relegation etc. Oh wouldn't that get up some of the Sydney wanker clubs noses (and I know I support one of those clubs, and they should be relegated after today's effort).

ok not before time.. too big an area not to ignore..

but what of the 'Sharks..does anyone really remember a truly great side of theirs'

and the constant bite the financial bullet way of running the place..

My tip, if they don't merge or move, and IMHO Adelaide ain't it, The Sharkies 'll be like the old Newtown Jets and North Sydney Bears.. revered but in the State Premier League..

AlexMc
19th April 2009, 05:00 PM
The Sharks can't afford to sack Stuart. He's going nowhere.

The Sharks are also not going to Adelaide. 8,000 people to the game today. They could have got that with a lot less travel and expense!

I don't think any of the coaches will get the punt this year. No club wants to have to pay out a coach this year in particular.

Grunt
19th April 2009, 05:14 PM
They actually had a guaranteed 100K from the SA govt to play there today. They have not had an income from any game at Shark Park so far this year. They are in deep ka ka financially.

Deano
25th April 2009, 10:12 PM
I was there Sunday, 8,500 turned out and the ground I'm told only holds 12,000
From memory the Sharks have an OK record of making finals but never get the job done.
2 GF appearances in what, 40 years??

Grunt
26th April 2009, 07:58 AM
Running joke at work is a glass trophy cabinet in our smoko room is actually the Sharks. We told them they could have it back if they ever win Anything! It keeps the Shire guys at work pretty quiet.

Do you have a separate shed for all the silverware the Bunnies have won since The Beatles broke up?

Grunt

Maybe not a premiership but they have won a few things. Pansonic Cup, Pre-season Cup, Minor Premiership, Still more than the Sharks have. All since the Beatles too.

Taylor has been picking players out of position and I believe the papers may be right about the player revolt. They are really soft in defense.

Funny thing is after the Melbourne game a few weeks ago they looked like they were coming back. What does Taylor do? He sacked the Players player in Champion and puts in a turnstile centre like B Lowe in against the Knights. Then he puts another non centre in the game tonight in the form of J Simpson. He has NFI in the coaching ranks I think he will destroy D Taylor next year too.

Souths should Sign S Folkes tonight.

You can't lump all the blame on Price, Mike. The players, especially the senior members, need to lead by example.
There is plenty of time left in the season to turn things around, but it starts with the players, not the coach.

You can't lump all the blame on Price, Mike. Most of it I can.

The team this year, not that much different from the team that won a grand final 18 months ago, have forgotten how to tackle and score tries, they drop balls, give away stupid penalties and look so totally lost in attack it's embarrassing.

He studied under Bennett for 3 years. I wonder if he was paying attention.

Eag's

So what's to say he is sending the players out with the same game plan and they are just not delivering?
As you said, it's basically the same team as last season.

If the players don't respond to the coach do you find another coach or another squad of 25?

I remember the bad old days with Nathan Brown in charge. This is looking all too familiar.
