Is there anything more tense and filled with anticipation than waiting for a club you've bought to arrive at your door (of office)?!

Maybe today...

I doubt Rick3003 will ever sell me another club. Impatient bastard I am!
Mind you, Australia Post did put the registered post slip in the wrong mailbox. :smt013
Everything ended well, and the putter arrived yesterday. :D

The wife is hanging out for her new bag, the sub contracted courier doesn't come here til Tuesday next week. So I organised another courier to collect it from their depot and it'll be here smoko tomorrow.

Just a Mizzy MP FliHi.

I'm going to see if it's any easier to hit than my four iron. It was only £25 shipped, so for an experiment, the price was right. Of course I'll have to get the crayons back out so it matches the others

the wait is the most unbearable experience known to man. It's even worse when you buy retail and have to wait for them to forget to call you after 2 long weeks+ and no money left in your pocket.

In general I get things faster from the States via Fedex than from across the country.
Id like a courier race, FedEx the undisputed courier champions of the world taking on all comers.
The handicap of course will be about 12 000 kms.
I think Fedex would win despite having to clear customs.

Got my new set today!!!!! Am back into golf after playing every day as a kid. We moved, no course around, and have played once a year since. Now mid 30's its time to get back into it. I think I will be playing off about 25 after getting my cards together for my handicap. Although last week played at Tuggerah Lakes and had 6 over of the front 9, then blew out and had 12 over on the back, including a 9 on the last!

I bought a cheaper custom made set, Wilson Pro Staffs. 3 and 4 iron hybrids. No such thing as hybrids when I last played but after hitting a bucket of balls I love them. Had myself convinced I wouldn't like them. The irons felt good, especially with thicker grips for me.

Wasn't too impressed with the driver as it's noticeably shorter than my mates TM Burner but doesn't matter. Will concentrate on keeping it on the fairway.

The one thing I splurged on was a putter. Got a TM itsy bitsy spider. Beautiful feel to it on striking the ball.

My aim is to get down to a handicap of 11 them spend the big bucks on a top set with stiffer shafts, especially in the driver.

moree golfer
8th April 2009, 09:11 PM
Why wait to get stiffer shafts, get them changed out?

Spider Lover
9th April 2009, 09:06 PM
Why not. Didn't think of it. Thanks Moree for helping the newbies.

Played with the set today for 16 over. Was pretty happy with that. The putter was great. Didn't 3 putt once. Next project will be to get a stiffer graphite shaft in the driver during a week of rain. Was happy with the stiff steel shafts in the irons.
