Retief wins the Transitions Championship by 1 stroke over Charles Howell and Brett Quigley.

A few weeks ago he was using a gut-putter and wearing glasses.

This week both are gone.

They mentioned that he had some serious trouble with his eyes after laser surgery ..... he had to rush back to England in his private jet !! He actually pulled out of a tournament with blurred vision.

As for the putter, it's the belly-putter he was using .... he just had it cut down 8)

Fair go Dick, what's the problem with being robotic on the golf course ?

Goose would be great to follow ... he's got the ability to hit the wayward shot/putt just when he doesn't need to ..... like Mickelson ;)

The Goose is OK. One of his shirt sponsors is a brand of vodka. Can't understand why they don't sponsor Daly though.

Watching Retief being interviewed I had a crazy thought that he and Annika could be mistaken for siblings. Has anybody else noticed a similarity in their facial features?

I don't have much love for the Goose.
He's one of the more robotic players on the tour...with less personality than a house brick.

He sure can hit that pill but he's not a bloke I'd be charging out to the course to watch.

I remember seeing an interview a couple of years ago and the players rated Goose as one of the best players to be paired with and reckons his laid back attitude and "larrikin" persona.

Personally i rate the blokes game and think its great he's back on top and at the peak of his performance and still having time to be a loving husband and father.

Let hope he can keep it up for the rest of 09

I thought it was his old YES putter that he won the majors with ???

He has been having eye problems for a couple of years, especially in the sharp light just after sinrise or before sunset. It's a side effect of the laser surgery.

I also read that away from the public he is piss funny and a real character.
