Played a 2 person ambrose this morning at St Lucia with an 18hcaper workmate. Format was matchplay and we won 3 & 2. We were 5 under through 7 holes and finished with 63. Not a tough track by any stretch, but happy with how I played. Stiffed a 7 iron on the 14th to 8 inches from 145m. Chipped and putted very well (for me).

Hitting some form! Look out Ocean Shores!

Well played, Vegas. Did you get the NTP?

Oh no sorry, it was a par 4. I was just excited about the approach shot.

I'm guessing it was some sort of corporate thing. I don't think St. Lucia has any comps, as it is a council course.

Andy's right. It was a work social comp.

FYI... St Lucia has some good deals on Mondays. It was $21 each in carts for 18 holes! Course was in as good a shape as I've seen it before. Greens were awesome.

You would've found the course pretty short, wouldn't you?
There are some pretty short par 4s there.

Yeah, it's no great test of golf. From memory, we had wedge (ie. < 100m) into every par 4 except the 14th (7 iron).

Well after my disastrous effort at Hope Island on Saturday I returned to the scene to try and seek some revenge.

This time I had my head screwed on and keep it attached for the whole day. Played off the white tees and it blew about 50 knots and shot 71 (Gross).

A vast improvement from the weekends effort. Highlight (and lowlight) of the day was driver (325), wedge (140ish) over the back on the Par 5 eighth. Made an unattractive par.

Also had a bit of fun on the 17th, got talked into playing from the very back tee (244). Hit a driver to 6 feet, unbelievable, shocked myself.

Looks like you fell victim to the ozgolf day curse on Saturday.. good shooting!

This seems to be the right place to post the more detailed sad tale of my round with the Sydney ozgolfers at New Brighton. My 31 points was a mixture of good play and some ordinary shots at inopportune times. New Brighton is a course that punishes bad shots.

After 8 holes I was happy, only one over after a three putt on the first and a great 8 iron approach to 3 feet for birdie on six. Then I had a major mid-round collapse, playing the next four holes in six over, including two lost balls. After that I played Ok, but a poor hole on 16 cost any chance of recovering the round.

Good driving, but my long irons were a bit off, and putting nothing special on greens that were slower than they looked.

24/12/04, Nambour (Vets Comp)

Once again, played great from the tee and putted well, but I have lost the ability to hit off the fairway (or rough).
Tried to play more conservative today, using both the Ezydrive and Driver from the tee, depending on the hole. Seemed to work well. I'm feeling confident with either club in the hand at the tee.

9/12 effective T-shots.
3/18 effective regulation approaches.
33 putts.
---
1 birdie.
4 pars.
9 bogeys.
3 double bogeys.
1 other, which was an 8 on a par 3 straight after the birdie. What a cruel game.

Score 43-44-87 nett 74 (par 34-34-68 ).

friday single s'ford comp at nudgee
6.00 am tee off very stiff from building a retaining wall at my house the day before - started with a wash  and 16 points in front nine.

Not happy Jan - then at the turn I thought what the hell I am gonna par the back nine off the stick and I did for 22 points and total of 38pts

Love it when a plan comes together.

Bring Ocean SHores on!!

Still waiting for you to provide a link to your Golflink page, nudgee. That handicap must be going downward fast.

plan was to play at RBA...turned out the course was closed for the members only in the morning...

so thru some connections, we got onto RBGCC instead...a great initiation for mate who's never played there before, and off a 30hcp (but better than that)...

I played decent...was using the Ignite driver, and am very impressed with it...will prob need to reshaft it to something firmer than the "fuji-stiff" currently in there...

think I finished 81...which isn't too bad, considering I lost 4 balls...

Played a medley stableford at Casino yesterday. Course is absolutely luscious, first time for probably 10 years they can cut the fariways out of the rough. Greens were a little long though, but we'll give the greenkeepers their Xmas break ;)

Had 30 points (12/18 ) - started Wipe/1/Wipe, obviously peaked a little early waiting for the rest of my group in the car park for 30 mins. It would have looked better if i didn't wipe the last

Putting was on fire, driving was ice cold.
