Anyone of you well-travelled Sydneysiders know what the highest ACR in relation to par is in Sydney?

I was amazed while stalking Johnny C's golflink to see Kennedy Bay in WA is par 72 with an ACR of 76  Wow!

76 off the Blacks.
74 off the blues, Scottt.

Kennedy Bay is one tough mother of a course.

I'd have thought it would be higher than that.

I actually looked up some info about Paradise Palms last night (for AndyP in advance of this Sunday's round) and saw that the ACR from the back markers there is 75.

In still conditions the course rating is fair.
In the wind (ie every day after 10am) the course plays a shot or two harder than that.

Kennedy Bay is easy

First 12 holes anyway

In all honesty, it is a course you can score on, but punishing when you lose your concentration or spray a few shots.

Either the Lakes or The Australian has an ACR of 76 from the tips, can't recall which one though. Both are 75 from the blues.

Try Newcastle GC on a Black marker Friday, course down to par 70 and ACR of 74, but one time I played it the CCR was 76, I think nett 79 even won it that day.

pretty sure Newcastle isn't in Sydney :)

I had a game at the Dunes in 2006 and CCR was 78 (which is the limit, and needs to be extreme weather conditions)

Scottt,

The 'great' Glenmore Heritage has an ACR of 76 of the medal tees.

Of course, it's a little higher than most due to sheer boredom & the amount of golfers that fall asleep during comp rounds.

And because 76 is a lucky number in Korea

And they put the pins on the sides of hills.

I was going to mention good old Glenmore, but I wasnt certain if indeed it was ACR 76? I remember when the new course first opened, with no rough it was easy as to break your handicap!

When the 4th had an island green. Those were the days...

76 - so no. On the day of the qld amateur, where it was the toughest conditions i had ever played in, rain, wind, soggy fairways the CCR was 76.

stuffed if i know how though, i had never seen that many snowmen in all my life.

Just did some investigation. Glenmore ACR is 74. Still didn't think it was that difficult when I played it. There you go.

I wonder what it's new course rating will be...

They should shut it, and Macgrange.

Mac Grange will rate about 60 if they use the new criteria.

Not a fan Scottt?

Not originally from Sydney I had to investigate this Mac Grange you speak of...

I don't mind about half the holes there, but there are some shockers, and you could whack a set of stumps in most fairways and get some decent chin music going.

I looked back at an old card I had from there. The ACR was 76 & the course was longer than it is now. I didn't realise it had changed, but then again I wouldn't because I've got better things to do than play that architecturally boring piece of mud.

I think playing the 3rd nine twice is probably more fun.

Whoa. I reckon you guys are harsh. Maybe I should play it again and take a good look.
