As the title says is there really that much difference between the 2 Ping heads. I am on the search for a 12* and with the recent price increases the G10 has gone up heaps :smt093
The G10 certainly feels like a very hot face and is certainly my preference but with a potential $150 - $200 price difference the G5 is tempting. I guess the stock shafts also have a bit to do with the decision as well
I will be cutting 1/2" - 3/4" off and playing it at 45"
Thoughts from those that have used both :-k

Much of a muchness. Probably depends on shaft more than anything.

About as much as the G2 to the G5
Same COR - little difference in the COG location.
Wil make very little difference which one you pick.

I thought the G2 was actually a better club than the G5 :-s
A big difference in feel between the two though, the G2 felt a lot 'harsher' on the face.
As said above, shafts have a lot to do with the feel.

Picked up a 12* G5 today from 3balls :D
Good price too. I figure if the shaft sucks I can afford to try something else :-k I like Virge's recommendation of a YS-6+ as I have always liked that shaft.

Or a Grafalloy, Prolaunch Blue or Red superlite.

Here's my take
The G10 is a little lower spin
The G10 is a little more forgiving
The G10 is a little more solid feeling
It all adds up to the G10 being a noticably better driver IMO. I liked it substancially better. The Rapture V2 is a bomber too.
