Went out and played at Camden Valley today with a few mates, one of them being my teaching pro. I was shocking yet again and booking a lesson in the near future is in the plans. I am falling back yet again during my swing.

Played at Rosebud Country Club today. Irish stableford. Played with a girl off 8 and because it was a team event she was able to give me advice along the way. Was very happy with my game - par 3's are usually my weak point but today I played them a lot better.
Won a NTP - wasn't all that close - but closer than anyone else on the day.;)
Would have played to my handicap.

Stableford yesterday. 36 points off my new handicap. Funny - I thought I already posted this. Played so much lately I'm getting lost.

Pennant today. Played at my home course and with our greens - home course advantage is an understatement!!
The team won 7-0:smt038 - it was against the bottom team - but a win is a win.
I had a hard battle. I won 8 up with 6 to go.;) Didn't lose a hole. My opponent told her caddy after the 7th hole that it was going to be a quick game. Talk about giving in easy. I've been 6 down to come back and square. Never say die - I reckon. It's a team event. You should never give up like that.
And she made me putt everything. And i'm talking 3" putts!!! Now that is just an insult.:smt093

We play at The National next week against the second placed team. Will be a battle. Bring it on!!!;)
I LOVE PENNANT!!!!

Reenie, do these pennant(s) games cost you anything ? The National wanted something like $180 for me to play there .

Wednesday - Barnbougle Dunes (Black)
Cruised round the front nine. Got killed by the back nine. A gentle breeze strong enough to blow a loose fitting hat off. Good lord the tee shots off the back are intimidating on a couple of holes. 6, 8 ,17 and 18 in particular.

Thursday AM - Barnbougle Dunes (Black)
Perfect conditions. No breeze and Sunny. Possible the best golfing day of my life.
Smashed up the front nine including back to back birdies on 4 and 5. Front nine obviously talked to the back nine while I was in getting a drink and he showed me. Only managed a couple of pars in amongst some carnage.

Thursday PM - Barnbougle Dunes (Red)
Still no wind. The front nine is still my bitch (except for 8 ). We make the turn and we are bang on time to get back in time to get cleaned up and head for the airport. Then we got to the 13th tee and there are 2 groups there waiting. ****! We look across and see the old entitled ****s from Sydney pottering along up 17 and I KNOW they are the ones holding up the entire field. They took 12 minutes to putt out on 17. ****ERS!! You cost me 6 holes!!!

Despite this the place is everything everyone raves about. Testing, fun and beautifully presented. Can't wait to get back.

Good one Eags.

I had a frustrating day at the office yesterday. Rocked up late, feeling seedy and had all of 3 hours sleep, then proceeded to hit 7 GIR on the front 9 and shoot 21 points (40 off the stick, my best front 9 at Kennedy Bay).

Back 9 the headache kicked in and I just couldn't hold it together. 14 points, 3 GIR. I don't think I hit a fairway after the 12th hole.

Overall:

35 points
6 FW
10 GIR

Played with rebjon. Highlight of the day, not for a good reason, was seeing rebjon chase some green fee players down #10 when they hit his ball when we were coming down #18. I thought he was going to unleash some Ju jitsu so something similar.

Weekend away at Kooindah Waters.

32 points on Sat.
Good - Seven pars (plus a double and triple ) on front nine
Bad - A few lost balls on back nine
Ugly - Couldn't drive, pulled fairway woods, then the ball wouldn't run down imaginary slope on the green

+1 in social club event on Sun. for a win on countback
Good - 7 pluses (no swingthoughts, due to last night's beef, beer and red wine)
Bad - 6 minuses (no idea, due to last night's beef, beer and red wine)
Ugly - Four 3 putts in last 5 holes (they were right on line )

nah. handicap matchplay is a lottery.

But without it higher handicapper would never get a look in and taste of what pennant player are up against.

The pennant players at my club are a bit of a clickie group who probably wouldn't talk to Joe average. But once you start beating them at match play they start play close attention to who you are and how you have been performing leading up to these types of events.

Back to earth a bit on Saturday in the 4 ball stableford. We both played ordinary to shoot 41 points. Started putting it together on the second 9 but tapered off. Probably shot 17 over. The good news is on sunday i was 6 over (with a penalty) for 15. Don't feel i am hitting that well tho and the 6 over flattered me.

22/03/2009, Paradise Palms, Single Stableford

5/14 effective tee-shots.
3/18 effective approaches.
1/10 up and down successes.
39 putts.
-----------------
1 birdie.
2 pars.
6 bogeys.
9 others.

Score 51-45-96 stab 9-14-23pts (Par 36-36-72 CCR 71)

My first single round for 8 weeks. The numbers are bad, and it was bad. No part of my game performed well. Obviously using foreign clubs didn't help, especially the bookends in the driver and putter. I found after not going too well in the first few holes, that I mentally couldn't trust them.

After 7 consecutive one-pointers to start, I couldn't see where I was going to get any points from. Lots of dodgy lies and several bunkers didn't help my cause. Fortunately, I had a consecutive 3-pointers on the back to cover 20 points.

Next round: A fun one, the Leon Treadwell Memorial Golf Day 4-man ambrose.

So I've reinforced my opinion that I'm a hometrack hero:roll:

Played Paradise Palms with AndyP and the Ozgolf crowd on Sunday for 27 points:smt013

Played Cairns (home track) this morning in the Wednesday comp and had 43 points with a wipe

3 over front nine. 1 over on the back for a new personal best 76 off the stick:D
