Pete,

No rush, but lets start thinking about where/when we can get our match played?

I'm most likely to get out on a Sunday arvo somewhere, so courses like :-
Carbrook, Logan, Riverlakes, Wynnum, Oxley, Gailes, Keperra, Nudgee, Virginia etc etc...

Any of those you definitely don't want to play at? I'd prefer to keep the cost down if possible, ie. <$30

Don't want to play at Gailes. Otherwise I don't mind. At the moment I am reasonably flexible with time to play.

I must be due a good round there by now, surely??? Actually, I think I had 80 or something when I got smashed by choppa a few years ago.

There's still a few courses I haven't played in Brisbane (eg. Hills, Virginia, Keperra, Wantima, Karana Downs) that I must tick off eventually.

I might be in for a round if you play the other Brooky, Carbrook that is :-). Can get you in for members guests or something maybe.

Whens the McLeod Cup? and do we have a thread for it?

PeteyD

I haven't played Hills, but it is long and I don't fancy putting my bunts against your long balls there.

Never played Wantima, but is a fair way over the north side.

Happy to play Carbrook. It is a good test.

sounds good goonie, cheers. Maybe the weekend before or after Easter peteyd? ie. 5th or 19th April?

I'm concerned that you found similarities between Brookwater & Carbrook though....

I don't want anything of yours against my balls to be honest.

As for the long thing, I was consistently the shortest in my group on Sunday just gone (hux, goonie & Moe). My cut/bunt driver was barely getting past Moe's Sonartec hybrid at times.

Have to be the 19th. I am away on the 5th. Pencil it in.

Maybe not:
Sunday 19th SEQDGA Seniors Championship

Can you make a Wednesday?

If you can wrangle it, i'd suggest a game at Virginia in the near future.

The place has been spiffed up for a Masters of the Amateurs tournament and should be schmick 8)

i am away on hols with the family the weekend of the 28/29th march, so no chance. If Carbrook is no good for the 19th April, I'm sure another course will be happy to take our green fees. As for the Wednesday suggestion, I'm no chance. I work Mon-Fri with no flexi-time or RDO nonsense.

PeteyD
18th March 2009, 07:33 AM
Curse you no flexi madness!

We could play Windypoo or Pathetic.

Last sunday of the school holidays, may be difficult for me to get out.

Last time I paid $30 or $25. It is a nice course that sneaks under the radar with the other ones down there. Apparently can get soggy if there is a bit of rain. I have only played it once, having a playing lesson with Addam.

ok... I would say over priced last time I played there but that was 07 it was $50 for a social hit. But some great holes.

Yea, when I made the suggestion I was thinking around $25 or $30. I think for $45 it is a bit much.

BrisVegas

McLeod's shit in the dry anyway, so mud won't make much difference.

We've had heaps of rain. I'm guessing something like 100-150mm over the long weekend.

What a chop fest. No hole by hole commentary as there were far too many shots taken. BV gifted me the first hole after his drive up the right could not be found and he had to go back to the tee. Set the tone for the day. 2 Halved, 3 a mess for PD so back to square. 4 halved, 5 to BV, 6 and 7 halved. PD wins 8 after BV plays sandcastles in the left bunker. BV wins 9 after PD pushes his approach into the water. BV up by 1 at the turn.

PD wins 10 to square it and then loses 11.
BV hits the shot of the day on 12, 3 iron to 4 metres. Misses putt ...
PD butchers 13 after losing his first tee ball right.
Going onto 14 BV is 2 up, PD snots a drive over the bunkers with a little tail on it. Ball can not be found ... BV 3 up. 15 is very anticlimactic as PD has shits over lost ball and puts an ugly push into the GUR mess way right, after BV snots a drive next to the bunkers.
BV wins 4/3.

Thanks for the game Peteyd. As I said earlier, handicap matchplay is a lottery. Today i was lucky to hold it together a little better, but neither of us scored well.

I couldn't believe that first hole. I swear my ball must have plugged and disappeared in the fairway. Even after running (fat bastard style) back to the tee and reloading, I still had a short putt for the half, but made a mess of it from inside where you holed yours from. My putting and bunker play was horriffic today. You had more than you fair share of tree trouble and an unlucky lost ball on the 14th after what looked like a good draw shot. I was fortunate to have most of my big numbers on only a few holes, which works well in matchplay. Thanks again for the game.

PeteyD

Yep. Thanks for the game. Wish I could have played a bit better, some of it was just embarassing.
