Will be watching with great interest on Thursday night.

Once upon a time I hate Benny but now he plays for
the mighty Tigers it`s a whole different matter.

Round 1 is going to be a blockbuster... Judd vs Cousins. Blues vs Tigers.... can't wait.

Carn the Blues!

Go tigers!

The bandwagon's rolling, and I might be the only one on it with low expectations. :)

Round one should be excellent, I've already started the email sledging with a Blues mate of mine and we're still a month away.

Richmond are getting more publicity in W.A than weagles or shockers at the moment
it`s great.

Agree round 1 what a game

Tigers fans are the best for other supporter's entertainment.

Don't forget that you were the last team to beat the Premiers.

Looking forward to Cousins getting out there, might show our recruitment team why he might have been a better bet at Pick 73 than Leigh Brown!

All these Tigers supporters talking about flags must be kidding! Not with Plough running the show...

Plough Wallet is a classic. I can't wait for some more of his spin doctoring this year.

"Obviously we’ve got Geelong next week down at Geelong, which is a tough game, but they still tell me that 13 games normally gets you into a finals campaign, and that’s what we’re going to keep working towards."
Five years at the club and he hopes to just sneak into the 8. A bit ambitious.....

"It is one game, but you just can’t sort of say it’s one game and try to just push over the cracks."
Is it one game or not?

Johnny Canuck

That was simply a disaster. Raines out. Cousins out. 80 odd point loss viewed by millions. Great start to the campaign.

I can't wait to see the betting line after Geelong easily handles Hawthorn this week.

Take comfort that you are still on plan for a premiership this year in Terry's eyes.

Richmond scored enough for one game, Carlton for two. That's why he is confused.

No disrespect to Hawthorn, but with a few guys out and Geelong at home, i think it is going to be a flogging.

No disrespect to Hawthorn, but with a few guys out and Geelong at home, i think it is going to be a flogging.I agree that odds are against us with a few down, but the home argument isn't really valid when it's at the 'G'. Plus, the Cats are our bitches.

3 things are guaranteed in life - death, taxes, and the Tigers fans wanting to slay their coach after round 1.

Hawks got b**** slapped. (that was scarier at the end than it was at 3/4 time.)

AndyP
29th March 2009, 06:20 PM
The only thing Geelong got out of that game was 4 points (which is sorta important, I guess). You still fear us, and the Cat's hands are always ready to go to their own throats.

A lot of Hawks fans walked away relatively pleased with the game.

On the Couch from Monday night is the comedy of the year. A Terry Wallace interview full of gold.

LarryLong
16th April 2009, 10:27 PM
Poor old Terry. Towelled up by two of the best three sides in the comp and he's getting lynched by the media and his own supporters.

I still reckon the tiges will make the 8.

:smt087

AndyP
16th April 2009, 10:46 PM
Towelled is the key word, instead of just being beaten. He's done a good job of making people think that making the 8 is good enough after all this time.

AndyP

I can hear the membership tickets being ripped up from here.

Wallet will be lucky to see the season out, even if the Tigers do come back.

I thought this was funny.

-----------------

Do you find grand final time stressful?

Does the cost of expensive grand final tickets cause you concern?

Do you fly into a panic trying to organise interstate travel and accommodation at short notice for the grand final?

Are you driven to despair by the complicated process of grand final ticket ordering systems?

Does the shortage of grand final tickets and the likelihood that competing club members will miss out get you down?

Don't panic.

Don't despair.

A solution is at hand......

3 years too long for Wallet. If only they would appoint Sheedy.
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl/story/0,26576,25505197-19742,00.html

LarryLong
19th May 2009, 12:24 PM
Sheedy is not a coach anymore. They need to find somebody who is up with modern footy and who has enough mongrel to make sure a few home truths are delivered to the players.

Actually, I reckon it will be good for Richmond to have Wallace there for the rest of the season. The players don't get off lightly, and he'll be happy to say whatever he wants on the way out in the hope that it might wake a few people up. Expect to see lots of blokes getting dropped, and perhaps a few surprising stints in the twos for blokes who are just coasting through the year. Should be fun.

Yossarian
19th May 2009, 12:26 PM
Nathan Buckley, if Mick stays at the pies???

jd_FRANK
19th May 2009, 12:31 PM
They need an experienced coach, Buckley would be mad to take that as his first job. If not Mick, then Mark Williams.

Is Wallace hanging around showing a lack of confidence in an assistant coach to take over for the rest of the year?

LarryLong
19th May 2009, 02:19 PM
:)

Yeah, the Richmond side is a bit of a revolving door at the moment. As for the assistants, I'm not a big fan of assistant coaches taking over. Surely they must have had some impact into the debacle in the first place?

Maybe Freo will come down wiith swine flu this weekend and we can win a game.

Maybe Micky M is a chance to coach next year.

Johnny Canuck

They'd do better with an injured Richo coaching than Wallace. At least the players would listen to him.

Do you think richo will play on next year?

AndyP
30th May 2009, 07:10 AM
There is some real gold from Wallet in his latest interview "celebrating" his 500th AFL game playing/coaching. This is my favourite comment:
"The two clubs I have taken over were 15th or 16th so I never received an armchair ride like some have been fortunate enough to get."

So, it's not really his fault at all.

AndyP
30th May 2009, 10:22 PM
I think I'd be institutionalised if I was a Richmond fan. They almost snatched another defeat.

Wallet to coach his last game this Friday. :(
I loved reading quotes from his press conferences. Now who am I meant to hang shit on?

LarryLong
1st June 2009, 12:39 PM
You could always turn your attention to another side in the AFL that is seven places below its 2008 ladder position. :)

But don't worry too much. I'm sure we'll find a suitable muppet to take over the reins for the rest of the season and keep the comedy gold flowing.

AndyP
1st June 2009, 12:53 PM
I'm dealing with my Hawthorn issues internally... There's a big question mark over even playing finals.

Will you be wearing black in mourning for the rest of the week, Larry?

I haven't finished yet:
"I was never going to let an eight-week period sour 32 years in the game."
Thanks for the memories, Tez.

just
1st June 2009, 12:57 PM
Will he finally be able to let us know where the five year plan went wrong?

AndyP
1st June 2009, 01:03 PM
That would be someone else's fault, just.

You can guarantee that the next coach won't be getting a 5 year contract.

LarryLong
1st June 2009, 01:44 PM
Will you be wearing black in mourning for the rest of the week, Larry?

Nope. My black gear is all at the dry cleaners. Clothes can get pretty dirty if you wear them for 25 years.

I'm hanging onto the hope that Terry built a good list, but just lost them attitude-wise over the last couple of seasons. Whoever comes in next can pick up a team that's ready to fire with just a little bit of tweaking. Like any Richmond supporter, I'm prone to the occasional bout of self-delusion. :)

AndyP
6th June 2009, 06:06 AM
A sad moment with Wallet's last press conference. Same old stuff. Whoever comes in is going to have to dissect why they turn the ball over so much, but Wallet refuses to take any blame for it or anything else.

Farewell tanned one.

Can't find an emoticon that looks like a tank, so here's my version of the game:

\\:D/ \\:D/ \\:D/ :smt107 ](*,) :smt011:smt022:smt081

You've got to laugh, really. How they could drop that lead is beyond me, but they just stopped running.

Big win coming up against the bombers this week. I'll leave it to you to choose the emoticon for that prediction. :)
