Tiger Woods has just announced he will be back next week at the World Matchplay.

Will he come back and win in his first attempt?

It'll be good to see him back. One problem though ... isn't 'the next big thing' Anthony Kim supposed to be winning every tournament from now on??

I wonder what odds you will be able to get on him winning at his first start?

Here's some more about it ...

"After rehabbing his injured left knee for almost eight months, Tiger Woods will return to the PGA Tour at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship next week in Arizona. Woods has not played competitively since he had reconstructive surgery on ligaments in his knee the day after his now legendary playoff win over Rocco Mediate at the 2008 U.S. Open last June.

"Elin and our new son Charlie are doing great. I've enjoyed my time at home with the family and appreciate everyone's support and kind wishes," Woods said on his Web site. "I'm now ready to play again."

Woods's return is welcome news for fans and especially the PGA Tour, which has seen ticket sales and TV ratings plummet in Woods's absence. Attendance at the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines in February was down 30 percent without Woods, according to Tom Wilson, the tournament director."

Excellent, although the winner of the next tourny will feel neglected if his name isn't Tiger

Good news. I don't think TW would come back until he is confident he can win. Although I don't think he will win.

He's the Tiger, i reckon it would be a good bet he wins first time back. He'll be ready to go.

He likes Match Play (Results speak to that).

Would expect he wont have to play full 18 holes if he has any form in the preliminaries but has stumbled in this area before..

He can have a bad hole or two and still get up.

It allows him to be more aggressive in his return to competitive play.

He is drawn at No 1 in the field (Brendon Jones - Aussie is No 64)

There are 8 Aussies in the 64 player field, 13% of the field, thats not a bad effort.
