is it $55 for Friday too ?

Jarro
13th February 2009, 12:08 PM
I might be up for this one shavey.

I might actually look at staying down there from the friday too (see what my roomie reckons)

A praccy round before the big weekend sounds like a must to me ;)

AndyP
13th February 2009, 12:13 PM
Personally, if I played the Friday, I'd play another course.

BrisVegas
13th February 2009, 12:15 PM
playing the course pre-champs is cheating. But I'd be up for a hit somewhere else that day as I typically make it a 3-dayer...

Pac Harbour anyone?

SNAP!

I just suggested playing their Friday due to logistics, especially for our southern neighbours.

AndyP

I can fit another 3 in my car on the way to Beerwah. I can drop them off at Australia Zoo on the way back too.

PeteyD
13th February 2009, 12:30 PM
No need to scare the Crocs off. 69er was making SOO noises about Caloundra.

Bruce
13th February 2009, 12:53 PM
I want to put my hand up for "somewhere else" Pac Harbour might be the goods.

SOO II would be a Friday certainty.

The format is yet to be decided, although we will call in the Cricket Australia selectors to help make it NSW biased.

Will anybody be playing the Qld Mid-Amateur in Sept (I think)? That will be practice enough.

FWIW, I'm working on a rate for Pac Harbour through my golf course GM chain of command.

PeteyD
13th February 2009, 05:34 PM
Pac Harbour as a warm up?? Gonna need 2 cartons!

AndyP
13th February 2009, 05:54 PM
That's not a warm up.

Surely you have to build confidence heading into a big event, not absolutely destroy it.

shavey
13th February 2009, 06:19 PM
Well I haven't played there since 'that' last game so very keen to reopen some old wounds.

we played it off the equivalent of the white tees anyway, those fairways were like airport runways.

Courty
13th February 2009, 08:27 PM
I'll most likely be down early enough for a round on Friday. I've heard good things about Pac Harbour, so I'll be keen to play there if that's what the consensus is.

goughy
13th February 2009, 08:31 PM
I still remember when G69 gave us a walk around at Pac Harbour while under construction. Onewood hit driver driver on the par 4 18th onto the green.

Eag's
13th February 2009, 08:40 PM
I don't care where we play on the Fri, I will be there regardless 8-)

markTHEblake

Onewood hit driver driver on the par 4 18th onto the green. what a girl, that hole is only a drive and a pitch.

shavey
14th February 2009, 08:28 AM
what a girl, that hole is only a drive and a pitch.

With the normal wind there MTB it usually plays that long. I remember hitting driver and teed up 3w to get there. However when we did play the champs round it was driver, wedge. Mother Nature at her best I suppose...

I think after three or so years, I'm confident enough to have my golf game ripped a new one.. AGAIN! Hopefully this time it will be without the heat, the flies, the wind, the 'firm' greens and lack of drinkable water on course.

Jarro
14th February 2009, 08:38 AM
I suppose if the wind is into you on 18, then it's with you on 17 ;)

markTHEblake
14th February 2009, 09:42 AM
However when we did play the champs round it was driver, wedge. Mother Nature at her best I suppose...

the 18th wasnt downwind in the champs though - it was a northerly, the 10th played straight into the wind, 15 and 16 straight downwind, thats why lots of us lost our tee shots into the blind water on 15th.

AndyP
14th February 2009, 10:45 AM
Actually, the wind changed direction during the Champs, so it played differently for those that teed off the first compared to those that started from the tenth. That's about the only thing I remember.

Victoria have a 3, You could break up the QLD into 6 teams and then NSW would have to borrow a QLD'er for the day.

Dave you will enjoy the experience immensely. It is one of the few courses that leaves you with a good feeling after it kicks your butt.

OK, yellow tees it is... we are not playing the blacks ever again!

and there is probably much less run now, than when we played it two years ago. Back then the blacks only made a difference on the par 3's

I can give someone a lift up to Bribie for this if needed, as I'm taking the old car up now. I'm planning to leave at around 10:30 from Brookwater. Let me know if anyone needs a ride.

Thanks AP, thought it was there somewhere. Just could not pick the right page in the thread to find it.
