Seems fair enough to me, if you consider what footballers earn for half a year's work.

Cricketers tend to be in play for at least 9 months of the year these days, perhaps more.

League players go on a tour somewhere, so their seasons can be extended.

AFL players have a 6-or-so month season, plus pre-season training. Then there's Hawthorn - they must really put in for their 2 months a year :roll:
