Russell is out on the reef doing live coral trout fishing at the moment.(Just a short trip to keep his ticket/license in order)
He is due in on the 30th, but I have a feeling he is already missing the big screen tv, king sized bed and air-conditioning. I will speak to him tonight and see what he says.

I have Wednesday off work as well, so it could work out. (fingers crossed)8-)

Generally speaking, yes, but the Wednesday afternoon comp is OOB for the ladies. If the Wednesday morning field is marked 'social' then I guess she should be fine.

I think we'll be playing plenty of rounds up at Mareeba starting soon. ;)

Your right about Mareeba Courty, I tried to play on Saturday but the rain was pissing down and there was a fair bit of lightning about.

We braved it out there yesterday and managed to stay dry.8)

Some scrum of the earth #!@$%&^*'s broke into our golf club Saturday night and smashed the ATM to bits, got into a few pokie machines and the club's safe. When we were there yesterday the police were there dusting for prints etc. I hope they catch the bastards.

Yes it is, but there is more behind it. Mike spoke to Brett (Cairns pro) who said there was more water visible than grass on the 9th. From experience, I know that means the course is virtually unplayable.

Evening all,

Just finished work and I can say that it has been pouring solid since 0100 hours, to the point that work was like an island for a while.

Drove past Mareeba and it has a fair bit of surface water on it (9th Fairway) and the drains on the Club Boundary are FULL.

Time for some zzzzzzzzzz.

I was gonna do some stuff around home today, but after it cleared, JD rang me to play in place of a guy who pulled out of his afternoon group. It was very wet underfoot (preferred lies) but didn't rain until the 14th hole. When it did come, it flogged down, but only lasted until we teed off on 16. If I didn't have a good score going, I wouldn't have kept playing.
