Leura golf course has had its funding support from the Fairmont Resort stopped, putting it in severe financial trouble.

The recently advertised full golfing membership until 30/6/09 for $100 including a cap and drinks voucher.

Leura has reportedly been scouting Sydney clubs to take them over and is in dire risk of closing their doors.

It would be a shame as it is one of the nicest in the Blue Mountains.

Cheers
Tomo

Are you a member?

Comes only what, four or five years after Lawson folded. Not good news.

I am a member of a nearby club who played there quite a bit.

I will keep you posted of anything solid that comes to light.

It will be a shame if it folds, but a local club was sure to go eventually.

We have 4 clubs inside 12 kilometres, with a very small population to feed them.

Any club offering $100 full membership for 7 months is in deep sh*t.

Surely members who paid $650+ for the year wouldnt be too happy.

Of the 3 courses I've played up there Blackheath is far and away the nicest, Leura probably comes in second, just ahead of Wentworth Falls. To be fair Wentworth Falls would be higher if the fairways were in better condition.

Probably on the money Mike. Wenty Falls is a much better layout thanLeura, but is usually not as well presented.
