24 handicapper had 48 points in the 1st round at Noosa Springs in the C Grade section.

Has since been DQ'd for breaching his amateur status for accepting a prize at an event about two weeks ago that was a trip to the US Masters in 2009, and his handicap and score is also under investigation from todays round.:smt108

What event is giving a trip to the US Masters away???

I played in an event where flights and accommodation were provided at resorts for finals, if you did well. So it's surprising there wasn't a similar workaround for the event they won.

Providing flights and accommodation to the finals is probably in another basket to something you would consider a 'prize'. But is the whole amateur prize thing a bit dated in todays world? I mean, pro tennis players are in the olympics; amateur sport can be worth big dollars too these days.
