Wednesday and no reports. Is everone saving themselves for the champs??

Medal of Medallists today. I started off with an 8 on an easy par 5. Didn't give up and finished off with a gross 85 nett 69. The winner had a nett 65. :smt038 My gross was good enough to win the A grade gross for the day and another shot off the handicap. Down to an all time low of 15.
Putted like crap - 36 putts - they have just been re sanded and I really struggled to make the short ones today.
Happy that I didn' throw in the towell after a bad start. I suppose I figured it couldn't get much worse!!;)

FG should go off the white tees at the Champs, not the reds.

I reckon FG is a smokey for the champs. She is on fire lately. Just treat it like matchplay FG.

4BBStab Oxley Thursday.

46pts.....and a ball in the run down. Two pairs had 47pts.

We had our chances - I had a couple of brain snaps and 3 putted on birdie chances (choker) and also had a couple of holes punish me badly with the ball plugged in wet bunkers (Need to practice these as recovery shots).

I'm not a fan of Oxley's bunkers - generally the sand is very fine and can't be real well drained as there were bunkers full of water in places. But generally the course was in great condition after the good rain, the greens are recovering well from the coring and fairways were lovely.

Obviously playing the course prior to the champs isn't an advantage. ;)

Played midlands yesterday and made a great start with birdies on the first 2 holes then predictibly things went to shit. Chipped in for par on the par 5 17th after hitting my 3rd shot over the green and under some willow trees also made a good downhill 12 footer for par on the last.

34pts
2 birdies should have been 3 missed a 4 footer
2/15 FIR
5/18 GIR
28 putts hehe including a 3 putt from 5 feet
1/1 sand saves
3/12 up and downs

next game tomorrow stableford at midlands hope to do better.

Absolutely perfect conditions in sunny Perth today. 24 and a slight breeze. Bloody beautiful. And for once I made the most of the conditions:

80/nett 63/45 points
8/14 Fairways (only in trouble once)
6 GIR
28 putts
7 U&D's

Best round of my life. Spewing not to crack 80, but there is always next week.

4BBB as well, results in, we won that with 49 points on a countback. Sweet.

nice round adlo:smt023

Midlands again today stableford.

43 pts and a win in b grade
29 putts
8 GIR
7 FIR
6/10 up and downs

pity I had to finish with a double bogey on the ninth but made some good putts so it all evens out I guess.

Stableford at Albury yesterday. Managed to squeeze out 34 points after a bad start. I had 2 points after 3 holes.... Rating was 35, so it could have been worse.

Well done, adlo. I hope you can crack that 80 barrier soon.

Nice score by OWAG too.

35 points yesterday

Another strange round which included 30 putts, 12 pars and 2 triples.

The triples put me to the sword, I was staring at 40 points.

Standing on the 17th tee with 34 points already in the bank, I bogeyed a very bridieable hole and then proceeded to have arguably the biggest brain fart in history to wipe the last.

Ah.....the round that got away

Out .1

8-9/11/2008, Palm Meadows GC, OZgolf Championships

8/14, 9/14 effective tee-shots.
3/18, 2/18 effective approaches.
3/10, 2/9 up and down successes.
33, 31 putts.
-----------------
1, 1 birdie.
5, 4 pars.
7, 8 bogeys.
5, 5 others.

Scores 43-46-89 stab 17-13-30, 44-45-89 stab 16-14-30 (Par 36-36-72)

A weekend spent slogging it out on a relatively long course in the wind. I was consistently inconsistent, as you'd expect with a reduction in playing golf, but I was happy with my scores. It would have been nice if another part of my game had supported my solid putting though, especially the dodgy iron shots.
