That tackle was as dirty as they come. He was dead set looking to take his head clean off! He got lucky only going on report. "You may have hit the shoulder first". Yeah right.

At least we got a converted try out of it. Get ready for an ass-whooping.

Pity about the adverts.

I thought League would have been keen to show that the League World Cup isn't a 2nd rate event like everyone says, yet we get Elf and 60 ****ing Minutes instead of live footy ?

Who the **** is running Channel 9 ?

PeteyD
27th October 2008, 08:32 AM
Yep. Gotta love channel 9.

Well, the refs in pink I understand seeing as it is Breast Cancer month. But the opening ceremony beinga few games into the series is just rediculous. Imagine having the olympics opening ceremony a few days after the events started to be run. Idiocy.

It actually did start after the 1st few Football events in the Olympics this year.

I read this morning in the Telegraph that the rate Channel 9 were going, kick-off would be on Fox before it was on 9 in Queensland.

Fox coverage would have had kick-off at 9.30pm.

True?

I want to see Wayne Kerr get a good run too.

Cos we only see 2 crap games from the Pool of Doom or whatever they call it a week.

Cos League is still struggling to be international in a big way.

I don't think the venue really has a great bearing, we just play it more and more professionally than everyone else. Of course we are going to be unstopable

PeteyD

There is a gridiron world cup.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IFAF_World_Cup

I have no idea why Australia does not seem to have sent teams to any other than Italy (where we were mangled by the Japs. Very fast little buggas) unless we failed in pre qualifying.

Not the best game of footy I have ever seen but a great NZ win - too many arrogant Aussies thinking they had it won at 10-0 - good to see them taken down a couple of pegs

Jarro
23rd November 2008, 02:26 PM
I hate to agree with you Moocow, but i think you're 100% right ... we didn't show the Kiwi's the respect they deserved last night.

What the hell was Slater thinking when he tried to run down that 2 meter blindside ??

True, sadly the reffing was similar. I wish refs would stick the damn whistle and let the teams play footy, applies to both codes.
