AFAIK its a peice of cake to hit across the creek if there is a bit of wind behind - for the long hitters.

Which hole is that with the tree in the middle of the fairway? The only one i remember is a short Par 4 ad that tree is near the green (12th or 16th ish)

Well,
Looks like a great day had by all..... you know... I have my own personal rule about not hitting past the Ladies Tee's......hmmm

"Pants down next shot"...... I like it and have seen it done so... watch yourselves when you play with me....

Blakey, my hubby seems to think that the hole with the tree in the middle is the 6th.... Can any you others remember..?? would like to know too...

Cheers all

Keza, correct. The 6th is a 366m par 4. That f***ing tree is at the 240 m mark. Who would put a f***ing tree in a fairway??

Thanks for the pics Kev. Please feel free to use selective editing.

I noticed Kev edged further back when he was taking a pic of me teeing off on the 1st. After seeing some of my drives later in the day, I doubt Kev will take a position anywhere in front of me again...

Meditation chant for the next month:

The only time I have seen you without those stupid trousers, is when you had a kilt on. and thank god for that, cos a kilt would fly up during a golf swing

Good idea that. Was checking out the old stamping ground the other day, their new software has an image gallery. Very handy, although no one has ever found it yet.

I would rather see the Pics in the relevant 1st Tee thread, rather than in a seperate thread or forum.

Anyone get remotely near getting home in two on the 9th or 18th ?

I knocked a 3 wood onto the 18th green and rolled in the putt for an eagle.
Mind you it was 1983, and beleive it or not my score was 89 - that was a pressure putt to break 90.

I recall there is still ample room to the left of the tree in the fairway. In fact that drives should be lobbing near it and trickling down the hill. I usually end up with a tricky down hill lie. 8) Anyone get remotely near getting home in two on the 9th or 18th ?

The tree in the fairway SHOT
Craig, hit the tree and went just left...bita bad luck
Paul, hit a great drive and got a bad bounce into the tree and just went right...bita bad luck
DavidP, hit his second shot and hit the tree and dropped down in front of the tree and had to take an unplayable....now thats BLOODY BAD LUCK !!!! :D

As I recall the wind come up into the 9th and 18th and NO CHANCE of anybody reaching those MONSTERS in 2  :D

Onewood, the 9th is only about 450m. Even Jarro can hit that far in two shots.

2 pretty good whacks to get home in 2 on those holes (9/18) especially seeing as though the greens are elevated a fair bit.

you must've been a good golfer all those years ago Blakey.

Too right mate, plus Persimmon heads, steel shafts and marshmellow balls.
BTW i forgot it was the 9th i made in 2 ( my 18th ), which is pretty short for a Par 5.

Most of the top players in that event were reaching 18 in two.
