I now understand why people like the Satin's over the newer ones.

Freaking huge amount of difference.

Thanks for that Perci - they are now in my old Hogan Edge Pro's, and I shot 68 with them Yesterday, and did that with my short game being very rusty indeed.

Whats the difference? just looks or how they play?

IMHO, it feels like the butt and mid section is a litle softer and the tip section is a little stiffer.

I do not believe in "feeling" where the clubhead is... I am more along the lines of feeling the shaft load up, and my main problem with stock Proj X is that the shafts feel dead and I have to weight up the clubhead to get some idea where the clubhead is... (Does that sentence make any sense ?)

The older ones seem to feel loaded up on the start of the downswing without me having the put that little bit of extra effort in.

So in essence - they just help me swing a little smoother and have some confidence that the ball is going to get to the hole, and.. when I want to put soem effort in - the extra pressure is applied at the bottom of the downswing and not at the top. (which to me is vital)

I hope the above explains it...

I have a feeling that the new chrome PX's are a bit heavier (and maybe stiffer too) than the old satin ones, I have a set of satin PX 5.0s and a set of chrome PX 5.5s and the 5.0 and 5.5s are meant to way the same but the clubs with the chrome PX's are 5-8 grams heavier and the clubs with the satins and the satins have butt extensions which add about another 5 grams.
