What can I expect if I put steel in my three wood?

Since converting to graphite in my woods I have not dabbled with steel, but if memory serves me correctly I'll get a lower ballflight and slightly less distance?

All I really want is the confidence to be able to rip it from the fairway, for some reason I just can't do that at the moment.

And with the extra weight in the shaft, could I play a three wood at 41.5" or 42" in a three wood without f*cking up the weight?

I have steel in my 3 wood. It's a Nike SQ 13*. It is the most reliable club in my bag and there is no way i would ever want to tamper with the specs. Because it is 13* i find I hit a low penetrating ball flight. Distance is certainly not an issue. If I hit it our of the screws it would only be 10-15m behind my driver.

I like the extra weight. it feels more sturdy. This is my exprerience.............

I've got a DGSL in my Wishon 3 wood. For me, steel equals more accuracy and a more solid feel. I'd probably gain a little distance with graphite, but I'd put far more balls in the bushes too.

This is what I'm hoping for Colin. If I want distance, I'll hit driver. I want something I can hit from 200 out, otr hit 210 off the tee and have decent accuracy.

I used to play DG S300 in my 3 wood. then I found the UST V2 shaft and it's just as straight, but much easier to swing.

Get a 19* Hybrid.

Will the heavier steel allow me to play the club at a shorter length without ****ing up the swingweight?

Steel shaft should be 1/2 inch shorter (I think??) to get the correct swingweight.

Get a 19* Hybrid.

I have a 20* Adams Idea Pro, which gives me 190-195 off the tee and 180-185 from the fairway.

Driver is 235-245 off the tee (depending on the strike)

Hit well, my 3w is 215-220 off the tee and 205-210 off the deck.

I just want to fill that gap off the tee and give myself a hero option from 200 out.

My driver is 44.5 and my hybrid, from memory is 40", so I was hoping to play the three wood at 41.5.

41.5 is pretty short. 42 would be better but I have steel in mine and it's 42.5 which is just right.
