Check out how "quiet" Lonards legs are through impact!!
Not many people would have the upper body strength to be able to swing like he does. He's a monster. :!:

Probably not a full shot that he's playing? Fish, was it a full shot or 3/4? Thats the Gary Edwin teaching down to a tee, basically swing with the arms, don't worry about hips.

It wasn't a full shot, and he was hitting into the teeth of a fairly stiff 'breeze' - once the ball got up the wind would get it. I saw a few people come up short in the bunker on that hole.
He kept it fairly low, and would up on the front third of the green. Awesome standing 2 metres away.

Tee shot on 16th - R7 TP ... HO's can tell me.. is it a Fuji SIX?
http://www.imagelink.org/id15402.jpg
2nd shot to the 17th green (par 5). He steered it beautifully between the 'BLR' at the front.
http://www.imagelink.org/id15404.jpg
NOTE: The fairway here was about 10 mtrs wide, water right, and he was dead-centre off the tee.
You want 'Intimate'?

I think this is one of my balls from when i played here.. No, perhaps it's an egg...

Walking to the 18th green - his putter handle has a see-through grip and the Bulldogs logo underneath. We've all got our weaknesses i suppose.

Final putt for birdie - which he made look easy..

That's what stood out for me when I looked at those pics. Hard to believe you could hit the ball 120m doing that.

Yeah, was a good day to set your own pace. We didn't end up walking too far either, Anita has a torn calf muscle from the netball grand final, so after chatting to GolfGirl we walked to a nearby green and watched the final 4 groups come to us - and then tacked onto the gallery from there!
Very keen to go to the Aussie Open this weekend now.

It could be anything, as TM gets most of the of shafts in the chrome and red colours, that way it looks like the pro's are using the std offerings. Good marketing by TM.

You should have got a closeup of Lonard's putter head ... I think he uses the Pendulum putter. His is center shafted though, whereas mine has a "gooseneck".
BTW, did you notice the similarity between his putting stroke and mine (for short putts)? Very different results, but I try to copy his stroke.
Great pics, Fishman. Make sure you take some tomorrow at St Michael's and The Coast. I want to see G69's grape shirt blowing over his face in the wind ...

I walked around with the digi camera, pointed and shot! Turned the sound off and didn't focus in/out if i was too close to stop any mechanical noises.
At one point the flash went off () - it wasn't during a swing luckily. There was one robo-attendant who came and had a word, by that time i had disabled the flash and pointed that out to her. I had it disabled most of the time but when you change to different modes (movies etc) it reverted to being back on.

Of course i did! :?

I think there will be too much wind blowing from the general direction of the grape shirt ;)

Mau - didn't see close enough, although if i was game i could have plucked it out of the bag, we were that close to them. No idea what the stock shaft is, but seemed to carry the same colours.
But what would i know?! :smt102

Yes.....great pictures of Lonard. We followed him around at Moonah Links last year and it is amazing how powerful he is. Also I was amazed how friendly he was to us. He would come over and have a little chat and joke with us - this was on the Friday. I think he was a bit more focused on the Sunday.
I can't wait till next years open - it is coming back to Moonah Links isn't it? :?:
