Claude Harvey a gold coast 63yo, is riding a Mower from Gold Coast to Sydney to raise money for Bravehearts (http://www.bravehearts.org.au), a charity for child victims of sexual result, and is hoping to raise $500,000

Or you might have heard of White Balloon Day. (http://www.whiteballoonday.com.au/Mowerthon.ews)

Every year Claude has pushed a lawn mower from Tweed Heads to Hope Island and back to raise money, but this year he decided to do it bigger.

So if any of you are shooting up/down the highway over next month, the old bloke on the ride-on mower thats slowing down the traffic aint no clown - so instead of giving him the bird, throw him a tenner instead :)

Apparently he is the first person ever to have got permission to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge on a ride-on mower. Even the Pope hasnt done that.

Note: sadly some bureaucratic clown had decided that Claude must pay roughly a $5000 insurance premium because he was pushing a mower on the footpath and might injure someone (its not running, but it might). Hence thats why he rides on the road now. :-)

Bureaucrasy is to creativity what herpes is to libido.

Good luck to him. I hope he runs over that local bureaucrat on the way.

Heading down to Coffs on Wed so will look out for him. Thanks for the heads up.

Never heard of this guy and what he has achieved over the last 8 years is excellent, 320k is an amazing amount of money for 1 person to raise for charity.

Hope he has a good pair of shoes : )

Yeah, that sounds about right. What size ride on mower is it?

a push mower is not ridden.;)

i meant he stopped pushing his mower up and down the Gold Coast because of the insurance silliness. Now he has embarked on the Ride-on journey to Sydney
