What methods do people use to clean old epoxy out of the hosel before reshafting? Is there a gel epoxy remover available or is a mechanical means the best?

Heat the hosel a touch with a torch of some kind - it softens the glue.

Then I use a drill and my air gun.

Clean as a whistle.

If the bore is .335 a drill bit a few thou. smaller,.330 will do the job nice...Note:be sure the head is well clamped.

How about a hand reamer of .335 or a little less. It would take out the glue left overs quite easily.

Where would sell a hand reamer Grunt? Hardware store was what I was thinking but being in the bush the stores don't stock everything.

There are some online tool places that you may be able to get it from. Will look at those that I have and see if they have that sort of hand reamer available.

You can also use steel wool wrapped around a drill bit. I took an old bit, ground the tip so it's flat then cut a groove in the tip parallel to the length of the bit. That keeps the steel wool in the bit when it's spinning

That's a great idea!
