Lets get this sorted once and for all.

PM and PM

Jarro
29th July 2008, 08:10 PM
If i was playing i'd rather play the two rounds at PM

jaybam
29th July 2008, 08:11 PM
having never played either i would like to play different courses but really dont mind at the end of the day. Am happy to do what ever is decided :)

markTHEblake

Why have a poll? We do what we get told to do.

no need to get all huffy about it. Its simple, a closed poll doesnt give a proper result.

What are you talking about?? the only courses that have been seriously talked about are the ones above. How many bloody options would satisfy you then?? Who in this day and age uses the term huffy buy the way :smt108

jaybam
29th July 2008, 08:35 PM
I do when reffering to my old bmx bike. Its was a huffy from memory. Good bike that one too.Think i only fell off it once :)

jaybam

Helensvale???

markTHEblake
29th July 2008, 08:40 PM
What are you talking about??

ok, Dont get your knickers in a knot then.

I dont like either course - simple.

Humour me..where do you want to go ?

Is there an echo in here?

Its a personal thing - the private courses on the Gold Coast have ruined local golf, and I dont like giving them any support whatsoever, and every chance I get i will say so.

Its a tragedy that we didnt have a choice at such notice, if it was up to me I would be looking to get as far away from here as possible.

jaybam
29th July 2008, 08:40 PM
You wont have to pay for the golf then either ??? :)

markTHEblake
29th July 2008, 08:49 PM
I'd still like you to throw up a couple of options...instead of just pissing on suggestions because of your anti-resort thing.

I did already a while back, I ain't pissing on anyones suggestions - If we are gunna have a poll then I am allowed to have my one vote aint I? :)

markTHEblake
29th July 2008, 08:55 PM
I dont remember either Probably CTH and Murwillumbah. I am sure you would have tried them already anyhow.

markTHEblake
29th July 2008, 09:04 PM
Do they realise its a 3 minute walk even with only one thong?

shavey
29th July 2008, 09:43 PM
As mentioned before, I can't guareentee a shuttle from Colonial to the Rado so leave that out of the equation.

I think we definately need to play the two rounds at different courses; be buggered if I'm playing Palmie twice! :)

Sorry if I read into things too much but I thought we had already agreed on Colonial/Palm Meadows. Colonial works well as there are quite a few mega members and Palmie is stumbling distance from the Rado. I'm not fussed either way but I don't want to be stuffing the courses around for too much longer.

I'll check availability at Palmie tomorrow but think it will be a PM single tee start as they have two tee start AM. This might then bring the daylight factor into the equation.

markTHEblake
29th July 2008, 09:54 PM

You will never get agreeance around here - nor anywhere else for that matter. Have a look at the Polls you did - 12 votes. Thats pathetic isnt it :)

Organisation of the champs works so much better when one person just does it. Like G69 did in the early days even though he never turned up.

Eag's
30th July 2008, 04:54 AM
Fair enough Shavey then let's lock in both Colonial & PM, the only reason I put the poll up was because of varying opinions on where we should play.
I am easy either way but you are the one conferring with the clubs so how about you make the executive decision ;)

hmmm - this would be a problem wouldn't it - a PM tee time on the Sunday ....doesn't sound too good.................and for what it's worth I don't mind where we play but support Blakey's anti resort stance - I guess it is hard to get it all OK for everybody though -

BrisVegas
30th July 2008, 07:16 AM
he was talking about PM tee time on Saturday, not Sunday.

PeteyD

Ok I'm happy enough to agree to Colonial from 11am on Saturday and Palmie on Sunday morning.
Those that want to have a drink during the game on Sat will just need to pally up with a non-drinking partner to drive em back to the Rado (or utilise the cab services of Mrs69 for about $10 one way trip per person).

I do have one hypothetical though....what if someone picks up KV and gets it running again before November ?

Doubt we could get the deal we had before as that went em broke, and we need to run with this now.

Run a Poll?

If it is up and running we might find there are good deals at KV as they try to get punters in as quickly as possible.

I guess it all depends if deposits are paid or not. We could always use it as a bargaining chip with the GC courses - call em up and tell em we got a better offer at the last minute, they might drop their price to keep the business. It will only be Shaveys rep in tatters :)

poidda
30th July 2008, 11:47 AM
I'll throw my 2 cents in. Driving after the Saturday's game is not an option IMO. Most people will want to have a few quiets while playing, and to ask the first groups to sit around waiting for everyone to finish without being able to have some beers, just aint cool.

As for driving to a different course Sunday (and for the record I don't care) what difference does it make? I'm sure it's not the first time you've had a few beers Saturday evening and had to get yourself to a golf course Sunday?!?!

I say let's just book it, and let the whingers deal with it. Just like with the wifey, it's a lot easier to apologise, than ask for permission.

BrisVegas
30th July 2008, 11:57 AM
golfer69 will book whatever he wants anyway, but for my money it would be far easier to stay & play at Palm Meadows both rounds.

I, for one, was drunk during my Saturday round last year, so like Poidda I'm not keen on driving anywhere after the round. On Sunday morning too, it was nice last year to wander out to the first tee after breakfast.

The interstaters who want to play a variety of course will more than likely come up for longer than just the weekend. Plus, playing the course twice gives everyone the chance to suss it out on Saturday and make amends on Sunday.

markTHEblake
30th July 2008, 12:16 PM
I like your idea of the Kooinda Magenta.

Also Tewantin Noosa has an 36 Hole open event in October this year (though i thought it was always December). We could play in that. Its a great event and people travel from all over to play in it anyway. the only disadvantages being no control of our group allocations, we are in the poo if we have heaps of dropouts and we will have to do score cards properly.

sms316
30th July 2008, 12:20 PM

Exactly.

I couldn't care less one way or another since I have a designated driver on hand.

PeteyD
30th July 2008, 12:27 PM
Can Shavey do us the accomodation deal for the Friday night as well?

2 rounds at Palm Meadows is looking the goods.

dc68
30th July 2008, 12:36 PM
Yeps 2 at Palm Meadows!!! Think how easy it was last year people.

jaybam
30th July 2008, 02:32 PM
I was happy to shuttle people back after golf but its all the gear you have to fit in the car with the drunks. I like the idea of no one having to drive or take the risk for that matter as tempting as three mins down the road might be. Take any reason to drive away and lets just plat palmie twice :)

AndyP
30th July 2008, 06:46 PM
I'm happy to drive someone else's car to get people from the Saturday course to the Radisson. Even the guy that works there, doesn't want to play Palm Meadows twice.

sms316

We could all just stay at G69er's place. BYO drinking encouraged.

Problem solved.

I'm happy to drive someone else's car to get people from the Saturday course to the Radisson.

Same here. I'll leave the drinking until after the round.
I'm happy to play the same course twice so I've got something to improve on in the 2nd round. ;)

jaybam
30th July 2008, 07:39 PM
Look at the end of the day how much difference does it really make?? As long as we got some where to play and sleep who gives a rats.

Eag's
30th July 2008, 08:45 PM
The board members met this arvo and the decision was made for the Palmie Double header.

By the way, much has been spoken about the gambling finish at palmie but none have mentioned the opening tee shot. With water left the best line is right at that bamboo...some players have been missing in that stuff for decades.

Thank god glad that is finaly sorted.

agreed. at least 28 people voted for neither.

How you worked that out blake is beyond me :smt102
From what I have read so far in all the Champs threads the general consensus is book it and we will turn up.
Only a handfull of people seem to have an issue with playing the same course twice.
Most have said they really don't care either way, but would like a firm decision made.

Bruce
31st July 2008, 09:48 AM
That's right Eags. None of the polls threads have a "Just tell me where and what time to turn up and I'll be there" option on them.

Which is the category I fall into so I haven't voted on anything yet.

markTHEblake
31st July 2008, 10:03 AM
How you worked that out blake is beyond me

simple maths? 40 in the field and only 12 votes.

Most have said they really don't care either way, but would like a firm decision made.

According to your context, How you worked that out Eag is beyond me?
less than 1/4 of the field have voted and less than that have commented.

None of the polls threads have a "Just tell me where and what time to turn up and I'll be there" option on them.

Exactly my point Bruce, but be careful or cranky Eag will be on your case!

Which is the category I fall into so I haven't voted on anything yet.

But we would never know that would we, ;) for all we know the 28 people that didn't vote could be with you on that, or the opposite. :)

You got to stay off the rum so you can read things more clearly. I have never said anything about being indecisive. all I said was that your poll did not allow me to have the vote I would like to make. It was a reasonable thing to say.

Bruce said exactly the same thing. Damo said practically the same thing, but you have a fetish for picking on me, maybe you need some counselling or something.

I will be at the Champs wherever they are being held.

so you didnt even give yourself a voting option
