Another very long weekend holiday for me...
It's still a holiday today!!!

After I flew back in from KK yesterday morning, we went out for another hit...
shot 76, with some okay driving and okay hitting...
2 doubles in there, another lost ball into the drink, couple of shots really got away from me...and some putts drop when they shouldn't have...

25 putts is awesome!! What are the greens like? In fact, what's the course like?

The secret to 25 putts is only hitting 3 greens. Am I right?

Since I have come back from a break, these are my scores last 3 weeks: 86,87,81,95,82,84,87,81
Overall i have gone out .9 in my last 10 rounds, add to that 5 Ozgolf games and that makes me an even worse performer than you-know-who.

Today : 71 I'M BACK! http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/jumping/jumping46.gif

Thats 14 below my recent average, Tried to do a cartwheel like Mandy, but didnt work and landed on the ballwasher. I'm already a father so it doesnt matter. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/ashamed/ashamed05.gif

Also got a PB today. 1st time for 9 holes without a 5 (or more) on the card. Unfortunately that cinderella story ended on the 10th, and the 12th, and the 14th.... http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sad/1/sad49.gif

Nearly got a PB in GIRS also, but on the penultimate hole "I missed it by that much". Very happy to hit 16, a few rounds ago, i only hit 2.

The reason for the turnabout.
1. Had a golf lesson with Doug Kercher yesterday. Not hitting balls though, just some drills to work on.
2. Caddying for some decent golfers on the weekend, helps getting the mindset right - definitely.

Played yesterday in the first round of our Club Foursomes.........it was not a pretty sight. My partner put me in the trees off the first tee and well it didn't get much better from then on. Had a lousy front nine and a shocker on the back. Second round next week - we won't be holding our breath!
At least we both played bad - I would hate it if I let my partner down.

FINALLY, I got to play some golf!

With all the exams and such lately, I haven't even touched the sticks for a long time....but on Monday, I got to get out and play some golf....

74 from the plates at St. Michael's......VERY happy with that round.....I really like that course, especially on days like Monday with very little wind.....It can be had on calm days...or you could have thousands when the wind blows.......

Nice to finally be back on grass though....

Hope everyone has been well in my absence.....

Unlike single cappers, I'm not overly sensitive about bad scores. Just look at g69, he's a new and improved man since he got his handicap into double figures.

I have also won a visitor's comp at Brookwater. It all balances out. 8)

Played at Nudgee today, North Course. had 43/41=84 nett 68 8)

Played resonably well, had the driver going great, only hit one bad drive. couple of good ones were, I hit 270 into the wind on 6, 280 on 18 with a crosswind.

Iron play wasn't special, but the short game saved me quite a few strokes today.

Putted well, with the Scotty firmly back in the bag.

Should drop to 15....

ever had a round go soooo completely wrong halt way????

I was travelling nicely... :D
chipped in bird on the first, bird on the second, par the 3rd, missed a tiddler birdie on 4th, hit the green on 5th and 2 putter for bird, just missed bird on 6, pushed my bird attempt on 7 wide...

so...what could have been 5 under after 6 holes, ended up as only 3 under after 6/7....

then....it all came crumbling down....

made a miracalous bogey after losing my ball off the tee on 8, missed bird on 9...

then I played the back nine in 11 over... OUCH!!!

Medal of medals - an awful net 86. I've never played so badly out of bunkers (I am usually pretty good) and my putting was awful - couldn't putt it close enough to the hole after fast NL greens :?

Excellent work, Mike. Which club were you playing against? Which club were you playing at? How's Mareeba going so far? I think there is a FNQGA website somewhere which posts all these results but I can't find the URL.

Update: My all-time lowest handicap keeps getting lower. A CCR of 70 (-2) on Saturday means I only lost 0.2 but dropped to 8.3.

Courty , it was against Novotel @ Novotel.

I hit my drive on 18 to about 15 metres short of the green. He played it safe with an iron, and put his second shot about 15 feet left of the flag. He missed the birdie putt.

I put my second about 2 feet from the hole for an easy bird.

1st playoff hole was 17.

He crumbled and I got a par.

Yeah courty, its a pretty hard thread to find, just look for the one that says. Ozgolf Most Improved 2004, i think that will be it.;-)

Courty your on fire, so still a big chance for 2004 (which started on 1/11/2004). So by my reckoning you alerady have improved your handicap by 1.3 so far. Which is probably 1.3 better than everyone else here.

To look back on last year, from the day you joined ozgolf until the 31/10 your handicap improved from 11.4 to 9.7. I forgot what Amanda's improvement was but it was about 6 strokes or more.

Just a bit of bad luck that you made much of your improvement outside the qualifying window.

Well to tell you the truth, she said that if she didnt win, Brad would do a nudey run up the 18th, and we didnt want to see that.
